Per your post, #15 above, as a Wisconsin farmboy I must advise you to be very careful with paint, stickers or any other such material being placed on the cowbells. These materials may have a dulling effect on said bell's ability to project in the most effective manner possilbe. Then again this would also have the effect of slightly changing frequency thus giving us an even wider range of disturbing noise thereby driving 'em nuts even more rapidly!!
