We are very excited about the upcoming Build Brigade on
  January 21, 22 & 23rd 

 Jades Way Road, Thomasville, NC 27360

Please join us January 21st at 8:30am for the official Build Brigade Kick off Ceremony!   

What is a Build Brigade? We will be in Thomasville, NC for a 3 day Homes for Our Troops event where hundreds of professional volunteers will erect a home starting with the bare foundation on the first day.  By the end of the last day, we have interior walls framed, windows installed, doors hung, roof shingled and siding installed!

After the Build Brigade the house is a weather tight shell.  We will then start the interior work and move towards completing the specially adapted home for the SGT Smith

Here are a few items still needed:

Key Volunteers

• Help coordinate coverage for Registration Table at the Build Brigade.
• Keep schedule and contact list of volunteers at Registration Table.
• Help to coordinate an escort for the Veteran and family to the opening ceremony.
       - Patriot Guard Riders, Veteran Groups, Police & Fire
• Help Homes for Our Troops Community Outreach Coordinator with Build Brigade event related items.

Food Coordinator for events/Build Brigade:

• Reach out to local community to secure donations of food and beverages and gift cards to be used to purchase food and beverages for the events. (Any remaining gift card balances will be handed over to the veteran after the Key Presentation.)
• Coordinate volunteers and organize shifts of to serve food and beverages
• Record all pertinent donor information; individual/business addresses and donation information.
• We need to supply food for 75 - 100 people each day.

Tent Sponsor

• 20ft x 40ft tent used for Food Tent
• 10ft x 10ft tent used for Registration
• 8 Banquet tables
• 60 chairs

Food

• Breakfast & Lunch - All 3 days
• Snacks – All 3 days for about 50- 75 people
• Waters and Beverages - All 3 days!
• Coolers and Ice - All 3 days!

Registration for Build Brigade

• Everyone who comes onto the build site, MUST sign a waiver at the Registration Table.
• You will be given a Build Brigade T shirt, this MUST be worn at all times on the site.
• For those who are participating in the construction, Hard Hats are available at the Registration Table.
