Eagles Needed in TEXAS September 1, 2007!
Posted On: August 21, 2007 at 2:06 PM By: Gabi
Presidential candidates, congress members and the world media will be in Fort Worth,Texas attending the Texas Republican Straw Poll Townhall Convention on September 1, 2007 - days prior to General Petreaus' report to the nation about the ongoing war and occupation in Iraq. Americans from across the country will descend on Fort Worth to express their opinion on the war. With a massive outlet for Eagles to express their pro-troop feelings, the anti-war demonstrators have decided to go all out. For example, Texans for Peace has issued the following: "You are invited to join in the "American People's Poll on Iraq - Texas Townhall" rally and other events to demonstrate where you stand and call to End the War! Bring Our Troops Home Now!" while distributing the following posters throughout the DFW Metroplex:

One Dead Soldier, Blood is Red, Funding the War, Save Our Soldiers, Whose Side, and War is Failure.

Texans for Peace, The Dallas Peace Center, Code Pink, Veterans against the War, Iraq Veterans against the War, and Peace Action Texas have decided to canvas the poll from 9am to 5pm outside of the Fort Worth Convention Center. The will also be gathering from 1:30pm to 3:30 pm on Main Street to rally.

Logistics are listed below: MAPS (click to enlarge)

And as usual, they are exploiting my brothers and sisters for their own gutless, hate-filled agenda! If I were one of the Soldiers in any of those pictures, I'd sue that so-called texan's for "peace" for emotional distress and using my image without my permission!!!!!!

Oh, my bad Dani. hehe your right 'peace protest' is kind of an oximoron. Anyway I think us counter-protestors should take their pole, and be present when they march as well. I'm gettin exited thinking about the looks on their faces when their little farse gets crashed.

I will have more details after the 27th, but here is what I have from our state coordinator so far:

This "Protest" is the Texas Republican Straw Poll at the F/W Convention Center. All the republican presidential candidates will be there as will be lots of media. The protestors plan to canvas the public from 9 to 5 and have their rally from 1:30 to 3:30 on Main Street between 8th and 9th streets.

The moonbats have rented the park where this rally will take place. It is legally their turf. We can be in the street running through the park; right in their midst. The street will be blocked off to traffic. We can NOT have a bullhorn or sound system and can not try to interfere with their program. The police have made it clear that if we do, we will be escorted out of the area. Therefore, we must get our message across through signs, how we dress and act, and interviews with the media should we get that opportunity. Dress patriotically. Red, White and Blue should be our primary colors. Make / bring signs. Signs big enough to see and read as the media cameras pan the area. Be creative but not abusive; no vulgarity. A few suggestions follow: (Retreat and Defeat is NOT an Option // Victory is America's only Choice // Support Victory // These Colors Don't Run (on a red, white and blue background) // Peace through Strength, not weakness // Support our Troops in words AND actions // Finish the Job // America is Free Because of the Brave // Cut-n-run? Not this Time! // Freedom is worth Fighting for // If not in Iraq, then where? New York? Chicago? Fort Worth? // If we quit now, we'll have to go back again later // Your polls are not accurate. They ask the wrong questions (They took a poll on the war and plan to announce the results at the rally) // NO White Flags--only Red, White and Blue)

We need as many boots on the ground as we can get, they are planning for 5,000 so get yourself there and bring friends. :)

Update from State Coordinator

Texas Eagles, Here are a few reminders about our activities this Saturday in Fort Worth: We will have our greatest impact with our numbers. If we have a lot of Eagles there, we'll say more--send a stronger message--than if we only have a handful show up. If you have not already confirmed your intentions to support the effort, please do so--let me know you're coming. If you're not planning to attend, we'll miss you, and, you'll miss the first-ever GOE Texas show of support for our troops. This is the Texas Republican Straw Poll so it will draw a crowd--presidential candidates, staff members, politicians and dignitaries from around the state who want to rub elbows with the presidential candidates, media, and other interested parties. There's opportunity for great exposure for both GOE and those with the wrong opinions / ideas. Parking will be a challenge. This rally takes place just outside the Convention Center, on Main Street, between 8th. and 9th. Main Street dead ends in the door of the Convention Center and will be closed off by police. There are parking garages on 9th at Calhoun, just a block or so from the rally site. Their program begins at 1:00 PM with music and the rally runs from 1:30 to 3:30. We will meet at 1:00 PM under the portico of the Convention Center, where Main St. dead ends. Look for the GOE--Texas banner. We will then decide where to plant our flag and banner based on how they set up their stage. Bring flags. Be patriotic, respectful, dignified. Bring your best behavior. We're the patriots, not the moonbats, and our behavior must clearly set us apart from them. Remember, we're not protesting them. They have every right to protest. We're unconditionally supporting our troops, our president, and victory in the war against the terrorists, worldwide. We believe that to quit before victory is achieved will be fatal to tens-of-thousands of Iraqis, it will allow Iran to take control of the Middle East, it will increase the number of terrorists incidents on US soil, it will confirm the terrorist's opinion that America is a "paper tiger," and it will mean that we'll ultimately have to go back to the Middle East in the future to win this war. It makes far more sense to finish the job now and be done with it. If America were united in our support of the president and our troops, our enemy would see our resolve and back down. Divisiveness, second-guessing, and tearing down our effort only encourages our enemies to fight another day. Any signs you bring should echo this position. If someone sticks a microphone in your face and asks for a comment, remember these points. History backs up our position but not the moonbat's position. I will have copies of our Position Statement to hand out to interested parties. While there, do not litter; bring no weapons, not even pocket knives; and do not disrupt their program. Six months ago when GOE started, and had such great success in DC, many Texans wanted to be part of the group and support the effort. Enthusiasm flourished. I got suggestions from every quarter on how to advance our cause. Six months later it's now our time to see what we Texans are made of. Can we muster a good showing, in our own state, to back up what we say we believe? I say we can. I'm counting on all Eagles to not let GOE--Texas down. Don't let the troops down. Events like this always get back to the troops through the media. They need to know that we support them, unconditionally, and are willing to stand up and be counted. A show of strength-in-numbers, at the appropriate time, is the # 1 way to advance our cause. We need lots of "boots on the ground." I'll see you in Fort Worth, this Saturday. Eagles Up! WAY Up! Larry
