A note to GOE:

I wish I could attend - but I am in Afghanistan still. Let me tell you first hand, these kids are watching this. Even living in wood huts, tents, or in the open, they are still talking. David in Afghanistan

David,

We are all here supporting the troops and their mission. It is an honor to know that you and your fellow service people are watching. The men and women here are the real America.

like many out there,we were in vietnam when some of these same protestors destroyed the will of the people at home to continue the fight to win. the same snowball effect is being used today for our troops and the families. now add defacing federal property. the benchmark of our character is being tested once again. america do not allow this- the silent majority must step foward and be seen and heard.sheehand ,fonda, code pink, etc are people who deserve to be brought up for their actions. your voice must be heard to counter these radicals. march 17 . as a nurse i will be there. these are my patients on that wall ,the three soldiers and our women's momument. army nurse -tet68

No One is more anti-war than the men and women who have to fight them. As for the children of Afganistan watching us, you can bet you hat and butt and everything in between, that the Islamic fascist are watching and cheering everything the anti-American crowd is doing too. This showing of support by former troops will do much to encourage our people in combat and will do much to let the Islamic fascist know all of this nation ain't wimps like Kerry, Murtha, et al.

What is great about our country is that you can voice your opinion and have the RIGHT to do so. The sad part about this protest of the war is that they are protesting and showing DISRESPECT to those who are providing their right to protest. It is amazing the way our citizens S@*T all over our Veterans.

If this type of non support was shown in the Middle Eastern countries, like IRAQ, IRAN, SYRIA, etc ... these people who want to protest would be shot down, literally.

FREEDOM IS NOT FREE !!!!

To All Who Are Serving

We, the VIETNAM VETERANS, totally understand how it feels to see and know about these protests, "been there and seen that" however we didn't have the support element that is available today. We the living, breathing VIETNAM AND KOREAN AND SOME WW2 VETS will not set idoly by and watch this kind of thing go unchallenged. In June 1968 I took an oath to Protect and Defend The Constitution against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC, I still live up to that oathyOU GUYS ARE TAKING CARE OF THE FOREIGN PROBLEM, WE'LL TAKE CARE OF THE DOMESTIC SIDE OF THE PROBLEM

Over at Blackfive.net they are planning on burning a effigy of Murtha at the wall on March 17th! I say we just give Murtha the final solution, him and Pelosi. Come over to Blackfive and join the party, we advocate violence against traitors.

For folks driving in to DC to attend the demonstration, there are several strategies you could use for parking:

Strategy 1: Park at the Fashion Mall (across the I-395 freeway from Pentagon, $18/day) and take the Metro at the Pentagon City station adjacent to the Mall, Blue Line to the Federal Triangle station. Come up the escalator, then turn 180 degrees away from the courtyard back to the street, 12th Street NW. Turn right at the street toward the Smithsonian museum. See the bum sleeping on the steam grate on the corner. There's always one there. Turn right on Constitution Avenue with the Museum of American History on your left (it's closed for rehab until next year). See the Washington Monument above the trees. Walk towards it. Cross when convenient to the other side of Constitution Ave. It's about a half mile walk to The Wall. Follow the idiot protestors who will be streaming there. The assembly area is probably the big circular open area between The Wall and the pond. Once the protestors march off to the Pentagon, go see the sights for three hours, if you like. The museums close at 5:30 PM. Take the Metro back to Pentagon City, remembering that the protestors will be packing it between 5 and 6:30 PM. It can take you an hour to get on a train. I'd avoid it. Find a restaurant and have dinner.

If you walk to the Pentagon with them, you can walk under the freeway back to the Fashion Mall when it's over to get back to your car. Starting about 4:30 PM, there will be a giant mob crowding the Metro. My advice is to wait at least an hour for the massive crowd to drain off. Go have dinner in the Fashion Mall. Try the L&N Seafood Grill upstairs, Chevy's across the street, or Champ's on the other side of the parking garage.

Maps: Fashion Mall Map: http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&tab=wl&q= Metro Map: http://www.wmata.com/metrorail/systemmap.cfm Fed Triangle to Wall Map: http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&tab=wl&q=

Strategy 2: Park way out at the end of the Metro Orange Line at Vienna and take the Orange Line in to Fed Triangle, like before. It's about a 50 minute ride. Do the same as above, doing your best to avoid the crowds coming back. Get on the Orange Line back to Vienna when you're done. If you return from Pentagon City, you can probably outwit the crowds and get a seat if you take the Yellow Line to intercept the Orange Line at L'Enfant Plaza, instead of the Blue Line which hits the Orange later at Rosslyn.

John;

Let's not get carried away. No threats or organized violence. You all have a right to defend yourselves and to some degree "The Wall."

No one knows better than us that things can be replaced...people can't.

I also suggest that some of the members bring video cameras and blend in with the crowd. Bring lots of cameras. You can bet the protesters will and their highly "edited" and biased versions will show up when they (later) civilly and criminally "come after" anyone who gets in their way.

I know Capitol Police are well practiced at keeping oppositions separate so don't set things off. That's not in anyone's interest.

"Peace protesters" do have a nasty habit of staying in this country where it's safe and attacking citizens who disagree with them. Typical leftist "logic."

They'll use any means they can to do this. In addition to rioting for fun and profit, they'll do what they can to incite another Kent State or Berkley to "advance their cause."

They'll also use Media, public sympathy, courts, police...anything. Don't be tricked into providing the spark.

I am one of the activists who will be protesting against the war. There is a right-wing meme going around that we will be protesting against the Vietnam Memoral Wall.

The wall is actually an antiwar statement itself, so I don't see how that meme actually has any legs.

As ANSWER explicitly states in its website, Iraq is another Vietnam. The reason ANSWER is assembling its march next to The Wall is to communicate the Iraq = Vietnam meme. They could just as easily assembled next to the Washington Monument as they usually do, but they want to send a message.

Bodemillerjokes, why are you allowing yourself to be led by ANSWER/WWP communists, true believers in an ideology that killed one hundred million people in the last century? How can you possibly believe such people are leading you to peace?

FBI Director Louis Freeh called the Workers World Party, the masterminds of this demonstration, a "domestic terror group." Why are you following a domestic terror group in a political attack on the same target Al Qaeda struck on Sep 11? How does supporting a domestic terror group end war?

Rocky, it's the Park Police who'll be in charge of this one. The Capitol Police are the ones who allowed the asshats to deface the Capitol Building on 27 January in the name of free-speech..or some such s***. The Park Police are VERY VERY serious individuals, who act like they own the National Parks.

bodem...then perhaps you should re-think your position, and your options. Believing the Iraq war is illegal is one thing...but standing with avowed socialists/communists/marxists/anarchists to make that statement, puts you in highly questionable company. A man is judged by the company he keeps.

Thousands of veterans and military families, including those who have lost loved ones in Iraq, will be in the front ranks of the March on the Pentagon. Some tiny pro-Bush groups who support the war in Iraq, and who normally mobilize about 25 people to hold signs when massive antiwar protests take place, are now callously trying to manipulate Vietnam veterans by spreading rumors that the March on the Pentagon will defile the Vietnam Memorial. This lie should be treated with the same contempt that people have for the other lies promoted by Bush and his followers to justify an illegal war of aggression: Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction; Iraq was responsible for the September 11 attacks; and that the U.S. occupation would be greeted as an act of liberation by the Iraqi people. Enough lies. Enough deceit!

bodemillerjokes, We are coming to Washington DC because we are sick of everyone in your rallies and everything they say. Your minds are marinated in the lies of your leadership. The main stream news media has led you to believe you are invincible. But your politicians have already betrayed you by not cutting off funding. They want to use the Supreme Court to do their dirty work. A lot of bitter and angry people are staring at the anti-war protests and would like to talk with those participating on March 17th. Your politicians are secretly hoping someone will get hurt.

There are people in both groups who are extremists. Most of the leaders of the "anti-war" movement don't give a damn about our troops, our constitution, or our history. They simply use their faithfull as a gravy train. There are also those that truly believe what they are doing is right. I for one think that an anti-war protest on sacred ground, which these monuments are, is vile. Because of this belief I will be standing to defend the wall from those people who would deface it.

What those of you marching on the Pentagon fail to see is that we all want an end to this war. The only disagreement is about how that end comes about.

One side wants an immediate withdraw leaving a shattered and defensless young republic to fall victim to terrorist wolves. Who will then attack us AGAIN.

On this side we want our boys home as quickly as possible WITH A VICTORY. We will not accept defeat. We cannot accept defeat and expect to survive. These people want to end our way of life. They want to take away your ability to protest. They see it as blasphemy.

Is the price of Iraqs freedom high? Yes!!! Is it painful? YES!! Is it worth it? You bet your sweet ass, and our troops know it.

We are tired of traitors like Hanoi Jane, and Cindy the Clown demorilizing our brave men and women in uniform. Most of our military is barely old enough to drive, not even old enough to drink. They have been asked to do a terrible thing. The only way that they can do this and retain their sanity and humanity is to know that it is the right thing to do.

Ask yourself why you would deny them this?
