I went to The Army Recruiters Office in Seldon Long Island, New York on Tuesday instead of Saturday, because it was better for me(I work on sat.) and better for them. I picked up a thank-you card and wrote it out a few days before. I brought balloons,A few large pizzas, some snacks to munch on and some cookies for desert.
When I first got there, I showed the men some things I always bring...My mom was a nurse in WW11 in the Air Force and very proud of the fact(so are we also). So I brought pictures of her getting her wings,I brought her actual wings from her uniform, her buttons from the same uniform and even a love letter from my dad to my mom before they were married from 1944.The guys were so interested and impressed.
It was a lot of fun for me to be able to share a part of my family and a part of my life and a part of history, thanks to my mom, with these brave hard working men and women that by far do not get the thanks and recognition the well deserve. I only wish I could have done more.
I really did enjoy the afternoon I spent with them, And I wanted to thank them for their hospitality, and kindness. I'm grateful to  be a part of such a giving organization, thank you for allowing me to help.

Always an Angel Mary
