This is from the first stop at 3rd and Broadway Navy and Army Recruiters Louisville Kentucky. This is my Uncle Kenneth Oster a retired Navy Chief and Pearl Harbor Survivor in WW II. I took him and his wife Juanita of 62 years to the Appreciation Day Celebration and it was a major success. They all wanted their photo taken with him and thanked us for thinking about them. I took them Subway sandwiches chips, cokes and home baked brownies and cookies. The Army came over and joined us in the Celebration. I signed a card thanking them for being the back bone of our Nation for providing the Men and Women that serve our Country in such a professional manor.I also presented them with a 911 music box with the Firemen hoisting the American Flag. The Navy Recruiters presented Uncle Kenneth Oster with a WW II Pearl Survivor Navy Flag with his name made in the Flag. The Flag came from the Disabled American Veterans and was beautiful. There were recruiters from other stations that dropped in because they heard that a Pearl Harbor Survivor and Disabled WW II Veteran was coming to honor them. Uncle Kenneth after the War spent two three year assignments in Louisville as a Recruiter himself at the Main Office in the Federal building. They gave us a US Navy coffee mug when we left. Uncle Kenneth Oster is 86 years young and is a great American that served his country well.

20 plus years in the US Navy and 20 more years working for the Veterans Affairs as an advocate for the Military men and women.

Respectfully, Walter E. Oster
