HI all,
I posted the above quote and editorial cartoon because it just about sums up my entire attitude towards our weasly, weak, and untrustworthy Congress. Plus, it gave me a minute to whisk over her and say HI to everyone. I haven't been on the site most of this week because my 12 y.o. son (many of you met him in DC) was injured playing baseball on Monday. He took a baseball right in the teeth and caved in three of his top teeth and fractured the underlying bone. It bled out like a mother-you-know-what but he handled it like a trooper. He's been in and out of dentists/ortho/and oral surgeons' offices all week, and they finally wired his teeth back into place today. Nice. I'll have to say my biggest challenge all week was feeding this big ole boy - he was starving, but couldn't eat solid food. He's had just about enough of protein shakes and chicken noodle soup! :) But all's well that ends well. He'll be back on the mound this weekend...he's got a really cool fat lip...and a black and blue mouth...if that doesn't intimidate some little batters I don't know what will. LOL I feel like I've missed out on a lot, and I'll need to go back over a bunch of comments to try and catch up. I was at the airport yesterday and there was a young man there by the name of Chad. Chad is Army and headed to Ft. Hood and then on to Iraq. Chad is leaving a young son and a pregnant wife to go fight this war. Chad said things like 'yes ma'am' and 'thank you'. My heart was so full of pride and sadness for this young man.
Chad, and others like him, are the reason we MUST support our military. I told Chad about GOE (he didn't know we were here), and sent him off with a silent prayer.
