Greetings and Happy New Year !
To all the wonderful participants in the Kona Coffee to our Troops Projects
during the year of 2009 :
I am please to report to you our totals in this effort for this year :
23 farms contributed donations , large and small , occasional and steady ,
of 1725 LBS of high quality Kona coffee in total .
Figured at an average of $25 per lbs , this comes to a value of
$43,125.oo
ALL of this Kona coffee made it to Iraq and Afghanistan , without the loss of a single box
(a miracle?)
Postage and office supplies donations to send this amount of coffee were raised in the
amount of $4073.68
All coffee was shipped USPS - Flat Rate - into the APO/FPO system
The Gathering of Eagles presently has on account $293.70 for postage and supplies ,
and 6 lbs of Kona coffee on supply waiting to go out .
We have 4 different groups presently awaiting coffee to be sent to them :
the 25th ID Combat Aviation Brigade
(needs 50 lbs )
the 504th Expeditionary Air Support Operations Group USAF
(needs 40 lbs )
the 130th Engineering Brigade
(needs 50 lbs )
and a group of civilian USDA Agricultural advisers
( needs 40 lbs )
(soon to include our own Jeff Knowles)
IF ANYONE can and will help me with further Kona coffee donations at this time ,
and/or postage contributions to send it ; I would deeply appreciate it .
Christmas and now New Years have been a HUGE success !
All the coffee sent has arrived ,or will be arriving soon .
Many very happy Soldiers , Sailors , Airmen and Marines are the wonderful result .
We have greatly assisted them in their missions .
They know about and will never forget about KONA coffee.....
