This sent out to all GOE nationwide :

I want to tell you a story about ONE PERSON  who really makes a difference , who is brave dedicated and motivated beyond belief  ( and NO , it's NOT me...)

Over 100 miles from where I live is the city of Hilo Hawaii . This old town has become a university town over the years ( U.H. Hilo) and since 2001 it has become more & more an enclave of a whole bunch of 'hate America first!' idiots , traitors and fools .  Led by a particularly insidious and duplicitous arch traitor named Albertini , they are now joined by all sorts of sassy young punks from the local U. who for some reason buy into the bull he purveys , with wide open mouths .

Today , in the famous Hilo rain , they had called for an anti-war rally to protest the anniversary of the War in Iraq , to call for a surrender to radical Islam in general , but best of all
to openly criticize the President ,who refuses to listen to their whining demands for immediate surrender .

For the last week I had been putting the word out to any & all vets and Eagles on that side of the island to form up and put on a strong counter rally .
For a whole week I was streaming messages . I have reason to believe that these notes were forwarded throughout the Am Legion post members , the VFW folks ,
and several other veterans organizations located in & around this , the County Seat of the island .

Well today came , the 20th , and sure enough the anti-war a-hole rabble showed up , in force and to represent Our Troops we had one lady .....
A force of one . With plenty of flags and tons of grit . She is the daughter of a Veteran , the wife of a veteran and has a son and a daughter who are both active duty .
She got there first.....As the anti a-holes set up their pathetic signs and unfurled their rainbow flags .

The proud  flag of the Gathering of Eagles  was already snapping in the breeze . Right along side Old Glory  ( x's 3)

My friend started calling me ? "Is anybody else coming out here???" I didn't know what to say , I had totally put the word out , and I was many miles away .
She called me at least 5 days during her ONE WOMAN rally for our side . At times I could hear the a-holes quite close and chanting their BS
I was told they were all around her . Punk kids walking by making subtle death threat remarks . They were trying to cut off her display of patriotic sign messages ,
and flags . The HPD were called . When they showed up the a-holes backed off . The HPD set up an OP to watch out for our Lone Eagle.
The leader of the group tried to come over and hand her some literature . She spat on the ground in front of him , told him he should be in prison and
he left , tail between his legs . Awhile later some young guy in camo fatigues showed up and ID'd himself as a Iraq veteran . All he had was a DAV card .
He said with venom " I've seen and gone up against you GOE people before ! ssssst "  Oh really ? At the IVAW treason sessions back east? Could be .
Our Lone Eagle let him have it ! She called him every name that befits a scurrilous traitor imaginable, told him he probably couldn't cut it and was no doubt
discharged on a psych discharge , told him that being here , supporting these idiots  made him a traitor too and to get the F out of my face . Now! .....
He left shaking....

One Woman ....NO back up , other than me on the phone ....

Finally the weasels packed up and left . Out Lone Eagle stayed on many more hours , even as I write this .
The passers by can well see the contrast . Between us * 'them'

I personally am in awe of this person . If you'd like to write her and express your direct thanks for her courage , unbelievable courage
and magnificent patriotism , write and ask me for her e-address .

As much as I am in awe of this woman , I have to wonder ......where was everybody else ?
What's it going to take ?
Auwe Auwe Auwe

ONE PERSON......IN HAWAII.... AND FIVE IN MONTEREY, CALIF!
YES!

PLEASE GIVE ME THIS LADY'S EMAIL ADDRESS! I WOULD LIKE TO THANK HER FOR HER COURAGE AND HER PATRIOTISM!

ONE PERSON DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE! SO DOES TWO AND THREE AND FIVE!

This last weekend, March 27th, was also the 8th Annual RALLY FOR AMERICA / WE SUPPORT THE TROOPS in Monterey, Calif. ( My husband, Jerry English, and I started this in 2003, before there was GOE. )
The 1st Rally was a huge success because we were able to get media attention! We were PRO AMERICA in the height of the anti-American demonstrations. We had over 500 people show up with USA flags and signs of support for the troops. Monterey is home to the Naval Postgraduate School and the Defense Language Institute, and a very liberal media. From that grew a group of 200 volunteers ( known as Cards and Cocoa for the Troops )  that sent 10 TONS of stuff to the troops!

But time and distance from 9/11 has taken it's toll. Thanks to our troops who are defending our freedom, so many have just gotten on with their lives. Each year it is harder and harder to get media attention. Each year the Rally has gotten smaller, until this weekend there were FIVE brave souls that stood and reminded those that drove by,  those in our military, that THEY ARE REMEMBERED! The military showed their appreciation with honking horns and smiling faces / taking pictures with their cell phones and some even stopped to talk.

Jerry and I moved to Chino Valley, AZ when he retired in January because we wanted to continue our work for the troops, but in a new direction. We have started a non-profit and have a website at www.warriors-heart.org. We have had to "put on our own oxygen mask first" as they say on the airlines, as we settle in and buy a home and meet new people. But we continue our involvement with GOE and other troops groups such as American Legion Riders and Patriot Guard Riders.

Today we were part of PGR as a hero that served in Afghanistan was buried in the Prescott Cemetery. He was a young man and left behind a wife and baby.  And I cried as a flag was presented to the baby and then given to the mother for safekeeping.

Which brings me back to the lady in Hawaii and my favorite saying by Everett Hale: I AM ONLY ONE. I can not do everything but I can do something. I will not let what I can not do stop me from doing what  I can do.

THANK YOU to the lady in Hawaii who DID WHAT SHE COULD DO!
