Eagles from across the country have been stepping up to honor our recruiters. In North Carolina we've had a great response and are covering recruiters across the state. I'm still getting requests for information related to ORA.
I put the press release out today to a local newspaper and radio station. Whether they'll use it or not remains to be seen but, they have supported us in the past. Keep working Eagles! EAGLES UP! To: Andrew
We've got a couple hundred signatures on our thank you card and plan to fill it completely this week. People were generous too! We want to purchase the recruiters restaurant gift cards (for restaurants right next to the Recruitment office) and we've had nearly $400 donated! Our local State Delegate plans to join us on Saturday for the presentation in Hagerstown, MD.
To: Andrew
Wow! Very nice work Ann, on getting Bob Ehrlich and now the state delegate involved. Don't forget to send the 20 cut to the ORA coordinator! ;-) (yes, people, it's a joke!)
Big plans, small plans, and everything in between. I'm very touched by the caring and generosity shown by so many just via word of mouth. To: Andrew
ann, clearly you have put allot of effort into this and i am sure that your recruiters will be very appreciative" way to go!!!

I'll be calling the Norwalk Hour and the Stamford Advocate in the morning, to let them know of our event, especially since it'll be in a place big enough to hold it all.
Turned into a regualr event on our end over here, At first we were wondering if we were making too much food, and as it turns out, I've had to double my recipes, and I'm wondering if that'll even be enough! Man, it feels good to pay the respect these guys deserve. To: Andrew
Coop,
Lest I forget... THANK YOU for all of your hard work and dedication to this great project. The ORA is already a success! Bill Cook To: Andrew
We are having Soup and Salad for about 25 recruiters here in Fort Worth at a local Olive Garden. They have a party room for us to use and I have raised $100 for the gig from two American Legion posts. A local theater has donated eitht VIP passes, along with popcorn and drink coupons, eight each. Will be visiting one more American Legion post and two more theaters. We're gonna have a hot time in Cowtown this Friday noon!
To: Andrew
Thanks, Bill. But my effort means nothing without all these fine folks stepping up and using their creativity to honor America's finest.

Hi, there are numerous Californians showing appreciation to our Recruiters this week and I hope we have many more yet join us! I'm taking some treats to the San Bernardino Recruiting office on Friday--9 patriots work there, supporting our military. Have hopes of some media coverage but nothing yet.

Ann, great job in getting Bob Ehrlich. I had thought about contacting him. I sent the press release to the local newspapers, state delegates, and state senator, local tv/radio. Haven't heard back from anyone so far. I visited my local recruit office this morning for the first time. They were great. I could have talked with them for hours! They said their boss may give them off on Saturday. They'll let me know for sure probably tomorrow. If that's the case, I'll stop by again one day this week after work.
Thanks, Coop, for all of your help. To: Andrew
We're sending out certificates to all the offices in state. Sandy has been in contact with them and the addresses are rolling in. For the local guys is a visit on Friday and a framed certificate and lunch goodies.

I have 3 maybe 4 potential possibles recruiters comming to the coffee shop in Mooresville for the visit by the Freightliner Rollong Thunder Truck on Thursday the 17th. I am still working on the Navy and Marine Corps. I feel they are genuinely appreciative of the effort. One of my Air Force recruiters has been to the "sand box" twice. Fly High With Pride Eagles

URGENT NEW YORK CITY ACTION ALERT Saturday, May 19, 2007 Noon to 4pm or whatever it takes.
The forces of the Left wing have decided to make a mockery of every American serviceman or woman this Saturday at Times Square. They have decided to perform street theater decrying the supposed torture of inmates at the Guantanamo Bay detention facility at a time when three brave American servicemen are in the hands of Islamic terrorists in Iraq. They have decided to put on this travesty at the recruiting station where we will be holding a Support the Troops rally that day. They have effectively declared war on the United States, our Military, and the Gathering of Eagles organization. They have no concern for OUR soldiers who are likely being tortured, mutilated and beheaded even as I write this, This is an OUTRAGE, this is TREASON, this has got to be smothered by a display of patriotism so great that even the news media cannot reasonably assert that they are the majority in this country. We need every one of you to contact your friends, family and neighbors and turn out at Times Square to ridicule these leftist morons. Spread the word and forward this alert to everyone you know. If their actions in the face of the manifest results of ISLAMIC captivity for our troops does not motivate you, if your blood does not boil at the thought that these pissants will be featured on the evening news, if you care not a whit that OUR men and women are jeopardized by their seditious behavior, if something else is more important than standing up for OUR soldiers, then email me to be removed from the GOE email list because you have already surrendered. If, however, you know that we need to support our troops who daily place their lives on the line to protect our freedom. If you know that their many sacrifices should be honored and praised. If you know that the enemy is both foreign and domestic. If you know that all it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. Then turn out with your flags and pro-troop signs and banners. This is NOT a drill. We need you NOW! Where: Times Square Recruiting Center, traffic island at 43rd Street between Broadway and 7th Ave. When: Saturday, May 19, 2007, Noon to 4pm or whatever it takes to route the opposition. Directions: N. Q, R, S, 1, 2, 3, or 7 subways to Times Square A, C, or E subways to 42nd St. (Port Authority Bus Terminal) From Penn Station take 1, 2 or 3 subway 1 stop to Times Square. From Grand Central Station take the S shuttle to Times Square. From Port Authority Terminal walk two blocks to E 43rd St and one block to Broadway. Eagles Up! Coop-
REgarding NYC- you already know I'll be there- I'm a 40 minute train ride away. Fo Sho! Damn moonbats make me so mad, anti-American freaks. I talked to a good friend of mine who is a WW2 vet, and was SO excited to hear of GOE, I gave him the website and he'll be forwarding it around. (I only see him in the summertime with activities I'm involved with- so that's why I'm just now telling him.) He'll definitely be getting his other vet collegues involved with GOE. With our ORA (ours meaning the one that I'm doing with Lori and Larry), I just spoke with a reporter from the Stamford Advocate and the man said he'll be running an article in the Friday Paper about our event. He said that he'll mention it's open to the public, and wanted to know what people could do, should they want to stop by. I told him that people are doing different things to show support, and whatever anyone would think necessary- thank you cards, movie tickets, whatever. These guys just really appreciate any positive attention. Other than that, we will be honoring the Stamford and Bridgeport Army and Marines as well as the Bridgeport Navy. Unfortunately we are unable to reach the Ariforce, but we'll get them next time. There WILL be a next time right??? I hope to see ALOT of you in NYC on Saturday!!! EAGLES UP! To: Andrew
I am having Chinese Take Out for 20 Recruiters, the owner kicked in an addtional 6 more qt size boxes. Also, I brought in Home Made Cookies, bottles of water their request about what they wanted to drink. Also, a gift bag with a Camo shirt and hat some one can pick the winning Number and receive the prize. Everything was well received and they were very much appreciative. I have another appointment on that day for OCC, operation Care and Comfort and the gathering of Police Officers Association on motorcycles, its a sight to behold, over 1500 show up. OCC will raise funds for their Care Packages to our Toops, they have been doing it since 3/03! Many members of POA are Vets and proud Americans. gwen, San Jose CA Thanks Coop for all your hard work and efforts!

We (myself and Sandina from Soldiers' Angels) just came back from our local recruiter's office. (they are closed on Saturdays. We brought 8 pizzas, soda, cake, and cookies. The recruiters were so appreciative and said that none of them had heard of us. They assured us that they will be checking out our site.
One comment that stuck out to me made by one of the recruiters, was "Just when I thought the world was lost". He said it with a big grin on his face. That alone made it all worth it for me. Eagles are flying high today! To: Andrew
As I was finishing up touching base (no pun!) with the recruiters who are to be our guests tomorrow morning, I got a call from SFC Chris Howell, a National Guard recruiter, asking if I could be at a local radio station to be interviewed on a talk show about ORA. I said, "With bells on!!!" As I walked into the studio, I got a call from the Shreveport Times wanting to know if I could write up something and email it to them. I said, "It's written and I'll email it to you as soon as I get home!" (Which I just did.) The talk show host kept pushing me back toward the end of the show, and I was fighting back the irritation. When I finally got, I realized he was doing it to give us as much time as possible! Good show!
To: Andrew
Well done, Chuck! First radio interview I've heard of for ORA. Please keep us posted on the Shreveport Times article.

Covington, LA Recruiting Office 19MAY07 After Action Report - had Thank You card, pizza & drink delivered to Marine Recruiters (Air Force was secured for the day): Army & Navy were going to have lunch with their families. No foot traffic past these 4 offices due to mostly empty stores in their strip mall location so unfortunately no publicity or GOE recruiting occurred.
NOTE: none of the recruiters that I spoke to and provided printed GOE handouts to, while setting up this operation (minimal that it was when finally executed)had even heard of GOE before my initial contacts. At least now they know we exist. |
