Toby Keith should receive an award for his undying support of the American military. From the beginning of this "war on terror" he has been a true patriot. It'd be nice to have him stand with us at the GOA.

I wasn't really a country fan, but I have purchased every Toby Keith album because of his support to our troops. He is amazing.

Toby is a true American, and men like him would be the kind of man that you would want the be beside you during a battle. Thank you Toby for you support of the past fight for freedom and for the present fight for freedom. I hate it that we have to have wars, but if we don't stop it where it starts, we will be fighting it here in on American soil. Thanks again Toby, and may God bless you always. As I posted the first time this video was presented here (dunno what happened to it), TK's support of the troops is DNA deep and he walks the talk second to none. However, he is on record as being unsupportive of the Iraq war. I guess he sets a standard for just how to do that.

"Predictions on Iraq

So what are Keith's politics? He's happy to tell you when asked, and he considers himself better informed than most, thanks to the conversations he's had with soldiers, generals and North Atlantic Treaty Organization officials during his many USO tours. Between 2004 and 2006 Keith visited Kuwait, Africa, Afghanistan (twice), Iraq (also twice), Germany, Italy, Guant namo Bay and Belgium, often playing more than one city in a day, according to the USO.

Keith doesn't support the Iraq war -- "Never did," he says -- and he favors setting a time limit on the occupation. He says he suspects civil war in Iraq is inevitable and predicts the Kurds will be the victors: "I promise you, they'll end up with it all."

Here at home, he worries that the Democratic party is being taken over by "every other nut and fruitcake organization" from the left, but he'd never switch parties. He counts among his friends several prominent Democrats, including Oklahoma Gov. Brad Henry (for whom he campaigned) and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson (who announced last week he is considering a presidential run). And, as Keith has said many times, he won't apologize for being patriotic.

"At some point in our lifetime, bad as this world is, there's going to be a reason to call on these troops to go to war and the whole country's going to support it," he says. "And when they do, I'll still be right there playing for the troops."

The music video for Toby Keith's "American Soldier" captures the feelings of a military spouse (a mixture of pride and pain) PERFECTLY. I cry every time I watch it, especially because the words of the song remind me of how my husband feels about his military service. He's currently completing his second tour of duty in Afghanistan - he volunteered to return there (he first served there in 2003) because he wants to be an active particapant in the struggle against terrorism. I'm so proud of him and of every other person in uniform who is willing to stand in harm's way for the cause of freedom. I'm so proud to be the wife of an American soldier.

I saw Toby Keith twice while working as a contractor in Iraq - (FOB Danger and COB Speicher). If he really feels there should be a time limit - it doesn't show in his performance or in the converstations and closeness with the soldiers. He is an awesome patriot, and yes, better informed than most.

For any Vet how will be in DC on the afternoon of the 16th I would like to ask that some would be able to attend the funeral of Sgt. Ashly Moyer at Arlington National Cemetery 3:00PM March 16. She is the Step-Daughter of a man I work with and was killed in Iraq by an IED. I will not be able to make it to DC for that weekend but believe we should honor the soldiers and families when possible. I have had the oppertunity only once to show support for families in this way.
