Eagles!

Another expression of appreciation for what Robert Gowan does with his "Jarhead Java" program in Hawai'i.

A couple of recent letters :

My name is Captain XXXX. I’m the Maintenance Material Control Officer for Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron XXXX based out of Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. I just received a package filled with your 100% Kona Coffee and wanted to take a minute to thank you for your kind contribution and support for us troops out here in Afghanistan. For the last 2 months we have been choking down some pretty terrible chow hall coffee. It does the trick and gives us that caffeine kick we need in the morning, but the taste is less than desirable. We have all been looking forward to the taste of that fresh Hawaiian grown coffee we enjoyed back home. Again, thank you for your support. It’s good to know there are people like yourselves back home that care. Helps us remember what we are fighting for out here. I attached a picture of us with your coffee. God bless you and Mahalo!

Sincerely,

Captain XXXX

Robert,

Just got the rest of the boxes in today. There were 8 total. The pictures are of today’s delivery, so there 7 boxes. Add the one from yesterday and we’ve received all 8. Got the grinder, coffee filters and all the zip lock bags too. Had some fresh ground coffee this morning and everyone was in great spirits. It was the perfect start to the day. Great tasting. Thank you again for all the support and all you do. I will send out some more emails and pictures just like yesterday to the other farmers that donated once I get some taken and check their websites for email address. Do you happen to have them by chance? Take care.

Semper Fidelis,

Captain XXXX
