I get the chills when I read stuff like this. I too have made this very point countless times, starting mainly in 2000, when Hollywood went nuts over Bush's 1st win. Hollyood has come a long way for the worst the last 8 years. Its leaned left sincse the '60s, but has lost its mind completely the last 2 elections. God help us. Hollywood is the most viewed aspect of our nation to other countries, and this is the message they get, wonderful, aint it?
We went from: Clark Gable to George Clooney; Marlene Deitricht to Anjolina Jolie (Spelling); From John Ford to Michael Moore; Mae West to Rosie O'Donnel Gary Cooper to Ben Afleck... WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED? To: deputydan
Well Jim anyone in hollywood that supports the troops or the NRA is ostracized or blacklisted by the rest of hollywood. I thought Alec Baldwin was gonna move if Bush got elected I see he is still there making an ass of himself, the so called movie stars that speak against us I just don't watch their worthless crap on tv or buy their dvd's same with the musicians don't by their cd's either, look at danny devito making fun of Bush he was so drunk he could barely sit up in his chair.HAHA and Susan Sarandon takes the cake ( makes you wonder why birth control isn't retroactive)she is another oxygen thief that looks like someone set her head on fire and put it out with a wet sledgehammer, none of these losers in hollywood can hold a candle to the likes of John Wayne or Bob Hope. I like what Denzel Washington did he paid for a Fisher House to be built at Ft Sam Houston in San Antonio so wounded soldiers family members would have a place to stay.

We had this subject on a thread a while back. In addition to Denzel Washington, you can count Gary Sinese, Jeff Foxworthy, and quite a few musicians (especially country artists-- Charlie Daniels, Big&Rich, Darryl Worley, Toby Keith, etc). It's a mixed blessing that many of these fall into the "quiet dignity" mold, as opposed to the "loudly ranting" mold of their more visible opposition.

I just missed getting to see Gary Sinise here in Iraq and Toby Keith has done a lot for the troops since Bosnia and everything else.

The so called "stars" of today with all their money and media attention WILL NEVER hold a candle to the true Amercians!! These men put their country FIRST and returned to the spotlight after their war efforts. Too bad for us most are already gone - I just bet some of the would have made great Eagles!!

Too bad some of these new stars don't pack up and leave America we would be better off.

We must remember that most of the "stars" of the 40's came from humble beginings. They were not the offspings of connected hollywood insiders and big shots as many a "star" of today are (arbite with assumed stage names to conceal their true relationships). Thease spoiled,self-centered children of privilege have no idea about the "real world". I am constantly amazed that they are fauned upon by so many and that the media uses them as "expert witnesses" on evey subject of import. It is no wonder that they fall short in the portrayal of duty, honor and heroism since these attributes are not part of their expirience. We should tune them out and only support those (like Gary Sinese) who truely care.
