Give each participant guarding our nations memorials a set of brass knucks and a flack jacket so they can really defend the memorials. No, I know you can't really do that, I only wish you could. A baseball bat for each might do the trick, too. No, you can't do that either. I just hope that the law enforcement that will be supposed to guard the memorials (and you) will not be the same ones who were supposed to guard us in the last march. God be with you.

As I stand next to my brothers and sisters on March 17th I know that the pride, patriotism, and love of America from the 58,000 names on the Wall will fill each of us with a force that will be untouchable and insure a victorious mission.
To:
I understand your feelings of pain and anger Brother. We have no need of weapons.
We are here to stop a Civil war not start one. Our strength will come in the silence and the steel in our stare as we hold aloft a sea of Old Glories. And, if need be, turn our collective backs on the mindless crowd indoctrinated by the left. Let them hurl their taunts, epitaths and phoney slogans. We won't have to lift anything heavier than our Brother's souls in response. The fluttering and flapping of half a million or more flags on the wind greated by A gathering of Eagles will suffice to protect our Wall and other Monuments to those gone before in defence of this, the greatest Democracy in the world. Our strenth will be in our silence, and in the steel in our eyes. Our voices will be in the "Sound Of Eagles Gathering"; a sound our troops will hear no matter where they are stationed. And they will know, America has finally woken, and taken back her streets from those who would nueter and declaw this Eagle. They, the protesters, though funded by the World Workers Party, have very right to peaceful assembly. As do we, in a "Gathering of Eagles" the left will no longer own the streets of this Great Nation and will no longer be the only voice on the winds. Keep on keeping on; and keep this Gathering of Eagles Rolling towards the 17th and Our Wall from all over this Beautiful Land of the Free! Are you a muslim attempting to stir up feelings of anger in your fellow Americans so that they may have feelings of committing violence against each other?
Your stance also seems to make some base assumptions about what patriotism is as well. I particular liked: "And at the Wall, as thousands of American faces reflected in the polished surface, the ghosts of more than 58,000 men smiled back in silent, grateful pride as their lips mouthed the message their countrymen had come so far to deliver: Freedom." I find it interesting that you so eloquently speak for the dead. My father was in Vietnam and disagrees with the current war, and has been many things you so venomously stand against. If he had just been another American corpse, would he have been smiling from that wall as well? Or is my father just a coward because he lived and now wishes his friends had not died for something ultimately fruitless? Would it have been better he died so he could be one of those thousands smiling masses? The way you cast your article his 30 odd years working as a microbiologist at the Veterans Administration hospital was just the work of a liberal coward who hated those he cared for, and I find that slightly offensive, and to think that even when he got a request to work in Iraq he nearly considered doing so at the age of 53 and it required his family to convince him to do otherwise. In the end, even though you words disparage me and seethe hatred for those who oppose how we got into this war and wish for peace, it is probably my failing that I cannot think of doing more than merely commenting on it on a blog. Christopher To:
Christopher,
Allow me to let you in on a secret. Everyone wants world peace. The difference between you and I is that I know peace only comes after war. This is the nature of humans. I, and many thousands of others, know that peace resides not in the calls for retreat, but in the sharp edge of a sword. I am not Muslim, by the way, but speaking of which, why don't you go tell the terrorists that you just want peace, that you're tired of America being in Iraq, and that if it were up to YOU, all the troops would get out of Iraq. Then start your stopwatch and see how long it takes them to kill you. To:
Christopher, Your father is a hero, you are the coward.
To:
Violence may not be the answer, but it is sometimes necessary. God bless those who have the courage to fight. (And anyone who doesn't approve of the war in Iraq should talk to a soldier who's been there. All the ones I've spoken to believe we need to finish the job before walking away.)

Kit, That URL is not for the faint of heart. It is quite graphic.
I vote for the removal of Leftie's comment on the grounds that its just talking points from their side and has nothing to do with this mission. To:
Good call, Eagle. While I personally think lefties need to see every beheading video ever put out, over and over, until they get it...perhaps I should have put a disclaimer on it.
I've removed both my comment and the one from our idiot friend. Thanks for the headsup. KJ To:
My only recommendation for your piece is that you amend the "soldiers and Marines" with "Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, and Guardsmen" (no particular order required; only that they all be listed and all start with a capital letter because ALL of them are fighting this war that the anti-war crowd so detest).
As a Navy recruiter, I deal with people all the time who claim to "Support the troops" but never want to put on the uniform. Professionalism binds me from voicing my true feelings about them. The only question for me right now is: what's the best sale from the airlines into Reagen international :) To:
Christopher, I find it unsettling that you found such hatred inside yourself after reading such a beautiful essay. It brought tears to my eyes, and determination to my soul. Yet you find nothing inspirational - you must be a very self-destructive person to find offense where none was given. "Seething hatred" you say? I find you to be very sad man - one who cannot see past his own darkness.
If you knew one thing about this Gathering of Eagles, you know that we are sending a message of love and support to our troops. If you had one drop of moral courage, you would ask THEM how they feel about this Gathering. But you won't, because as someone so eloquently said above - you are a coward. To:
God bless America and God bless the Eagles. Thanks so much for your patriotism, common decency, and rational thought.
To:
A note to Kit: such an evocative piece of writing has the power to move deep emotions in people. For those with strong hearts and minds, it will be inspirational and forge determination. They will want to share it with others of like mind, since it so closely matches what is already in our hearts.
Unfortunately, for those of weak hearts and minds, who are plagued with their own hypocrisy and hatred, it will expose their failings. They will lash out, just as the forgettable man did above. Be prepared - those in the dark shun the light. And a powerful masterpiece as you've written here is bound to attract those who will do their utmost to tear it down. That is what people like them do. Don't let it sadden you - because then they are exposed for the fatally flawed humans they truly are. You've written something very timeless, and I thank you for it. I am sending this essay far and wide. To:
To the brothers and sisters who will stand silently in front of monuments. Know that each of you have our love and admiration. A noble cause will never go unrecognized.
To the young person who can't get bitterness out of their soul. Pray that you will always have that "EAGLE" flying over to you to protect you. You might not recognize it - TODAY, but let's hope some day you will thank the men and women who fought and died for you and your dad. To not believe that this country was cemented in blood of many, only shows you do not know or understand our history. To:
As a former Marine and viet nam Vet I've seen and heard many anti-war protests. I personally think you're a very cruel group because you attack knowing that the very people you are attacking are in fact the people who are fighting thousands of miles away from home protecting your right to do so. You sacrafice an afternoon to protest and demoralize our troops while they sacrafice months, years and unfortunately sometimes there lives so you can have that liberty and bragg that you're doing "your part". You're worse than cowards.
To:
Bravo to Kit, no one could have said it any better. I feel sorry for the Christphers of the world, that will never see the light. Everyone who has ever been to war detest it, however, with out wars there would be no peace for us to enjoy. It is only when violence has struck so close to home that people respond. What has happened to the patritism of our fathers generation and those that came before? Have we been so seduced by the left as to believe we can just walk away or turn the other cheek? What happened in Viet Nam is now happening in Iraq. Let the military win the war and keep the politicians out of it. We all know that a strong defence is an even stronger offense. It is about time that we stand up to those who spurn the Spirit and Pride of America. A Gathering of Eagles is the best thing that can happen to this country after the Cindy Sheehan's and Jane "the Traitor" Fonda. Maybe they should move to Iraq and demostrate there! Take Christpher with you. Let see you stop those whose only function in life is to kill Americans no matter when and where.
To:
This is a foolish mistake on the part of the Eagles. Mark my words: the Eagles will be depicted as right wing white trailer trash in the media, mocked by the anti-war protesters, and used to recruit more anti-war demonstrators to subsequent rallies. This is the last thing this country needs. The Eagles are no better than the anti-war movement and this action does nothing to help our country.

Lastly, I am thankful, as you should be too, that your father’s name is not carved in that granite. But if things had been different, how would you have the American people speak of him? Cannon fodder for American Imperialist aggression? A man too stupid to run to Canada? You are living in a world where you see wide swaths of gray where there are actually crisp lines delineating black and white. BTW If you were my son and invoked my name here, in this manner, I’d kick your ass up around your ears! To:

Dear Sir
This is really moving and I thank you. Please see this which I wrote back in 2005. Today it is still very true and much more so. An Iraqi Message To Our Troops This message to your brave Soldiers who are fighting in Iraq,is from the heart of an Iraqi who can write in (bad) English sometimes. SOLDIERS You have come to Iraq voluntarily to represent the best and finest human face currently on this earth and the moral clarity and courage, from your Countries, to advance the march of Freedom, Human Rights , The Rule of Law, and Democracy in Iraq. We ( the silent majority of Iraqis who are often unable to speak with you to express our true feelings and respect in your language) wish to thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and thank your God ( whatever you conceive him to be) for guiding you to willingly accept your presence on our land and its oppressed (for centuries), destroyed and impoverish majority of its people. Your courage, devotion to your duties, your respect to the traditions and customs of your hosts, your bravery and valour and above all your sacrifices away from your loved ones, should be something to be proud of by yourselves, your families, friends and realtives back home, wherever you have come from. You have come to us to free us from our own Tyrants, Despots Individuals and Groups who tortured, killed, maimed, imprisoned, and disbursed us and did untold horrible things to us sometimes for no reason other than our thoughts and dreams. We are proud to have you with us mending our Schools and Hospitals, the Courts, the Police Stations, guarding our borders and skies, and the Fire Stations and the orphanages, the Roads, Waterways, the Electricity plants, the telphone exchanges, the oil installations, the bridges, the railways, and much more and helping us rebuilding our personalities to think positively in hope and in anticipation of the good for our beloved Country,Iraq. We thank you deeply for your being with us supporting and helping us and helping our future peace loving children and grand children to live FREE like the rest of the civilised world, with intgerity honour, and grace. Soldiers in Iraq. Your countries should be proud of you. May God protect you and bring you back safely home as soon as possible. Well it appears that we will always have to deal with the likes of Christopher and Lisette. Even after reading such an eloquent piece about the Wall and our reasons for defending it, they find reason to be "offended" and reason to ridicule the effort. The likes of these two lemmings will never be truly understood by those of us who live in a world of REALITY, simply because they do not. They are to be pitied for the most part. For they don't realize that once we're gone, and the defenders of their precious "rights" are all dead, the first groups to be beheaded under the new islamic regime, will be theirs.

CavMom, A respecfull hello from an ol' Nam vet. Reading all the responses takes my thoughts, and emotions, back to 1968. Glad to see that so many, and not just the vets, hold this country and our flag and what it stands for, so dear. I too am sending e-mail to our local radio stations to pass the word, and sent in a donation to GOA to help with costs. Sent an e-mail to Laura Ingraham show also, she's very much behing the troops. When this war started I talked with my fellow vets and we all agreed that we hoped our troops would not be treated with disrespect and looked down on, as we were, but unfortunately that has already started. For us old vets, if we have to make one last stand to show our love of our country, and as we pass this to our younger brothers in arms,as your son, what better place than at the Wall, with respect to our fallen brothers and having them at our backs. As I read the original letter, I realized I saw myself in many ways. I was at the huge rally in Washington in the 60's. I was 17 and full of myself. I was a flower child in every aspect of those words. It was the "me generation" not the "we generation". Just to let everyone know that you should not "assume" every protester grew up to be as stated in that letter. Yes, I am a mother and grandmother. I joined the US Army in 1981 at age of 31. My daughter joined the Navy Seabees and my son joined the Air Force. Right now my grandson is serving aboard the USS Eisenhower. My husband is a US Marine and served his country for 24 years. He was also at the protest in Washington...he was on duty that day. I don't know why anyone would deface a monument, that has nothing to do with the war in Iraq. He helped guard the Iwo Jima monument. No one protested there. This flower child knows about Iwo Jima and our father's war... My father and his father and brother all served in the Navy. Are we forgetting how our country treats returning heroes? WW1 and the camps around Washington. The $.25 my father had to pay back when he was discharged because the Navy "overpayed him". The PTSD my husband is finally being treated for because of his service in Vietnam, Panama, Beiruit, and that small Island that no one remembers that housed a handfull of medical students? No one should speak for everyone, but everyone must speak for their country. Do your part, but if you are going to be violent, then reup and fight the right people.

I'm far from a Republican, I think our President is a joke, I'm not sure why we started the war in Iraq. But taking this march to that wall is just plain ignorant on the part of the anti-war protestors. That is a place for quiet reflection; not sloganeering, dumb stickers about the next march and that radical cheerleader crap.

Have you guys read the article? I find it interesting that an article decrying the acts of individuals who do not support the current war are the acts of cowards, and funders of terrorism.
How can one that disagrees with the current war find that inspirational? To the individual that claimed I was a coward, you have peeked my curiosity. If I am a coward, then why is my father not a coward, but instead a hero for having similar beliefs that I do toward the war. Again, the thing that bothered me most about this article (which I found because of the quote I referenced) was the statement about our dead heroes smiling back. The answer to my question remained unanswered. Does my father disagree with you because he lived? I actually was so concerned I that I called him, and asked him what his feelings were on the war directly. His answer was that we should leave Iraq entirely, which is opposite of mine. For I support staying in Iraq until the job is done, but I am against the war on moral grounds. I also have one other conundrum to mull over. This is from the individual that stated this march was about solidarity for the troops, which I am all for. The problem is, the grandparent article is written vitriol against those who do not support the war, and implies that they do not support our troops. As someone who fits in that latter category, that I do not support those who lead us to this war and feel that we have to finish this job, and I wholeheartedly support our troops, I find the statement to be naive at best and dishonest at worst. If this were about supporting our troops, then there would be no reason for me not to be standing there as well. I would like to state that I do wholeheartedly support our troops and their mission, but again reiterate that I do not support the war. For me it hits closer to home, for I am a resident of Leavenworth where many of my classmates have served or are serving in Iraq, and the last thing I want to happen to them is to die, be wounded, and not have the proper equipment. This is the same Leavenworth of David Petraeus, who recently commanded the fort and is now leading our efforts in Iraq. I am sorry if I am rambling a little bit, but I am not often exposed to sites who use liberal as a near synonym with terrorist supporting communists, and until I read this and the replies I thought everyone could talk about such things honestly and get actual reasons out. My original post was made in anger, because I do not feel that my father would have appreciated being one of those weeping thousands, especially if the support for the movement came from the heart of someone who would support an article calling their fellow Americans dishonest cowards who are not well meaning in their intentions. I may have it all wrong, and the article is not representative of the spirit of the community going to visit the wall, and it is as you stated a rally for those to support the troops in their own ways. The problem being, if that were so then even though the two groups would be in disagreement on how that goal was achieved, whether to leave Iraq or stay the course, they would be brothers in their intent for the safety of those troops and their support of those who defend our country. The last two times I was a the wall it was a humbling experience, for it is not often you see a grown man cry for those who have been lost, though my possibly flawed interpretation of this article would have me assume he was crying that the job was not finished and not for his comrades. To:
I also belong in the category Christopher described, so I guess I also am a terrorist funding, American hating coward. I don't believe anyone should be spit-on or have their name called regardless of their belief in whether the war is right or wrong.
What I think is criminal is for the leaders of our country to politicize support of the troops as being a question in the first place. For a President and Congress to declare their support for our troops, and then not fully arm them, ignore several generals advice to utilize more troops at the start of the war, question the validaty of PTSD as even a disease which allows them to not "support" our soldiers after deployment is truly cowardice. Also like Christopher, I grew up in a military family. My father and Uncle both served and are both actively against this war in Iraq. I disagree that this makes them or me "scum who are nothing but fascists". To:

Christopher, Lisette and Steve... We Vietnam Veterans know and remember the truth of the political war we fought. Those on the left were able to get their minority voice printed and broadcast in all news media. Our enemy declared that they could not defeat us on the ground but would defeat us in America because they too read and listened to the media. So, they continued their fight and killed more of our Men and the vocal voice got more print and air time...and on and on. This is not supporting the troops! Today we experience the same thing. The Islamic Terrorists have studied history and know that they too can defeat Democracy and Freedom for many of their Faith by extending their fight against our troops one IED after another. This is what your side of the political spectrum does not see. Your voice is heard around the word today as it was in Vietnam's day and your voice inspires our enemies to continue to kill our Troops. You and your ilk believe in Isolationism. That the United States of America must stay out of the issues of the World. You are blind to history. Sadam Hussein's rise was no different than Hitler's and his actions would eventually have fomented more terroristic attacks against America on our soil. That is reality. Your blindness to this reality is shocking. Remember the words of the Islamic Radicals is that "death to all infidels" is their goal. And who are those "infidels"? Anyone not of the Islamic Faith. That's you and me! Fanatical people with a belief structure that endows the rewards of their Faith by committing suicidal attacks, can not be defeated unless they are controlled in their backyard not ours. So wake up and face the facts. We needed to eliminate the potential of additional attacks (nuclear, biological, chemical) before the money of Saddam gave the Fanaticals the ability to attack us here. That is the concern that is most important. That is the concern that made my son volunteer for duty in Iraq and is serving there now. Concerns of what our enemy of 1967 (Communism) had in store for our Country made me volunteer for Duty in Vietnam. 37 years later I still cry about what your vocal minority did to us. March 17th will be my first time to the Vietnam Memorial and I and hopefully every person there will wear RED to show that the blood of our Veterans who have gone before us will not be tarnish by the ignorance of those who think America must not stand up for those who are terrorized, beaten, enslaved or killed because they are not of the right Faith, Color or Nationality. Freedom rings only from Democracy. May the United States of American and it's Veterans continue to fight for the Freedom of every living human on this Earth so that Peace Reigns around the World. The facts are that the leaders of this antiwar movement are socialists - check their websites. Read their tenets. Look around - you'll land on the Socialist Workers Party site within two clicks. It's a fact that they have sent $700,000 and MORE to the terrorists in Iraq - money that was spent on arms to kill Americans. That is beyond despicable. It's a fact that Fonda collaborated with the enemy. It's a fact that Sheehag has incited our enemies against us by consorting with the likes of Chavez and others.
It's also a fact that the antiwar movement DID spit on our troops and scorn them when they returned from war. And recently we've seen them deface recruitment offices, spit on Iraq war vets, and scream the same tired old epithets. I, myself, have been called a babykiller by maniac liberals just because I wore my country's uniform. It makes no rational sense. So, tell me, what's different today? Nothing. The antiwar types hate our troops - they always have and they always will. Steve and Christopher, I can't account for where you fall into the mix - and I really don't give a damn. Wallow in your shades of gray for all I care. The troops KNOW who's on their side, they can't be fooled by the likes of you. No matter how many times you say the words, they remain meaningless because you've thrown your lot in with the historical enemies of our military - the antiwar peaceniks. What I find ironic, is that both of you jump to cower under the protective covering of your fathers' service to this country (since presumably you don't have it within you to do the same), and yet you would scorn the young men and women of today who CHOOSE of their own free will to join our military KNOWING they will be sent to this war you despise so much. I don't care if you think this war is morally wrong. Your mincing is getting in the way of our winning - just like it did in Vietnam. That's all I care about. I think its heinous that any countryman of mine would advocate the defeat of our military. That's what these peaceniks want, and that's what I'm fighting against. To:
Christopher,
You need to buy a clue! " though my possibly flawed interpretation of this article would have me assume he was crying that the job was not finished and not for his comrades" Chris. To all Eagles
First and foremost, I thank all veterans of past and present conflicts for your service and dedication, your valor and your sacrifice, your insight and your love... you have given the rest of your countrymen all so much, and many of your compatriots in arms gave this country everything... leaving G ds green earth so that other Americans can live a life with the ability to pursue happiness as they see it. When I contemplate what many of you have gone through, it leaves me in proverbial sense of awe. To actually know that my own country can furnish such real men and women who take up the call to defend this nation, even when they leave family and friends behind, is nothing more than pure providence. This dedication to the ideals of America shows the true blessings that are bestowed upon the United States (even if many of these peach fuzzed protesting fools can not see the true reality that surrounds them... ) I am not a veteran, I have never served, nor do I know the intimate details of a punishing boot camp, or the adrenaline filled terror of true combat. I can only empathize and imagine from the stories I have read, and the history I have studied, and even then I am sure that my imagination is nowhere close to the truth of the hardship that is involved with being a combat veteran of any branch of service. This being said, I live in the Washington Metropolitan area, and I have visited and paid tribute to many veterans at the Vietnam memorial on previous veterans days. To those who have never see the Wall up close, perhaps I can give you an idea of what it looks like. The memorial is somber in tone, beautiful in construction with its sharp flowing lines, and horrific in the true nature of the cost of Freedom (this cost consists of many American and south Vietnamese lives, with the American names engraved on hollowed ground in the nations capital). In my travels, I have also gone out and counter protested many of the "anti-war" demonstrations (these should be known by other means, such as the anti-western and anti-American protests) and I have seen the vehemence that accompanies this movement first hand. I’ve seen the anger, the rage, and the blatant socialists; complete with Che Guevara flags openly calling for the downfall of America. I’ve seen things that the Mainstream media never covers, and loves to overlook... During past times these people came to DC, I worked with the freepers, making myself a target of the hatred of the anti-war movement. I took the vitriolic yelling of thousands of PO’d leftist in order to show that there are many Americans who back the troops, even when they get slandered during these protests. I have many friends, and some family in the military today (including one of the best people I could ever imagine calling Friend, in the 82nd airborne over in Iraq right now, what’s up J.D.R.) and the idea that these misguided miscreants speak for all those active in the defense of our country is laughable at best. I was not there the day those layabouts in lace decided to spray paint the capital steps, but when I heard about it I shook my head with shame... how can we have such hatred of our institutions that make us great? When I heard that these misguided whelps were planning to gather at the Vietnam memorial I knew I had to do something. If you will let me join your organization of veterans and other likeminded people to stand between these protestors and the wall... in silence, in memorial and in vigil... I would be honored. I will be silent, but I in this silence I will make my voice be heard loud and clear! I will not let you desecrate the memory of those who gave me the opportunities that I have today. Let this man stand with those who have stood before... Knowing that many of today’s veterans struggle with pain, anguish, and crippling disabilities (both mental and physical) I still cannot express my gratitude in words... or deeds... Honestly, all I can say is Thank you! And to all of you Vietnam Veterans out there Welcome home... Many of your own generation may not have seen the sacrifice that you struggled through, but I know that others in prior generations can see what you are all about. Trust me, your reading the words of a man under 30. Thanks for your time AV in and around DC. To:

Why is it that you folks can only think in stereotypes? Why is that you refuse to recognize the many vets, myself included, oppose this war and are appalled by the failures of the Bush administration to provide adequate equipment and training to our troops? To make thinks worse, when our sons and daughters come home wounded in body and spirit, they are denied the care they need and were promised for their sacrifice. But I suspect you will delete this comment as you did JCrain's beacuse it diagrees with the whole premise of this website, which pretends to support the troops, but really is just shilling for the likes of draft dodgers like Dick Cheney and Karl Rove.
To:
Terril
Why is it that liberals want to make this about the current administration when I am sure for the vast majority of Eagles, myself included, it’s about a battle for the hart of America. I would be attending this event to make sure the moonbats keep their dogs away from the memorials to our fallen heroes regardless of who is President. Try all you want to make this about the current administration but you will not change our harts and minds. This is about hard working Americans finally having enough of the socialist, Hollywood, anti-American crowd. To:
But that's exactly what I mean! You are putting everyone who opposes the way our soldiers are being used by this administration inot this box called "socialist, Hollywood, anti-American crowd!" How can you believe that any but of a few of the hundreds of thousands of war protestors would EVER deface a memorial to our military dead? It would be the same if I called all the supporters of this site "white supremiscist facist thugs." I don't believe that is true, but I also have my doubts that you believe it is possible to separate support for the military from support for the mission (or lack thereof). And I also believe that ultimately the founders of this website support our current foreign policy without question. I served my country honorably in Vietnam, but I didn't give up my right to think independently.
To:
I believe it because of the people you have representing the face of your movement and the groups you have funding the protests.
Every American has the right to think independently and I thank you for your service in protecting that right, but I believe that your hatred for the current administration has clouded your thinking. Administrations come and go but the communist/socialist agenda has been using misguided people like you since 1922. This is bigger than George Bush or Dick Cheney. Do I like the way the current war is being run? No I think we need to walk softer and carry a bigger stick. To:
Christofer:
you're "old man" was probably a cook or a clerk in some rear eschelon secure area (REMF.) those are the only Nam vets I've ever known that piss and moan about the war. personally, I did two combat tours with the Corps and my son is a SEAL with numerous tours in the mid-east. we both believe that our enemies rotting corpse is the sweet smell of success. Too bad that isn't an option, yet, for the enemy within. To:
Travelinman is correct - this is far bigger than the current administration.
Terrill, check the list of groups that will be joining the socialists on their anti-war march. It's a smorgasbord of Islamic front groups for jihad. I wouldn't be caught dead consorting with the likes of Islamists one step removed from terrorists, but our "peace activists" have no such moral convictions. If you don't think the Islamists are using you and your comrades against your own countrymen - namely our armed forces - then you're dumber than you look. And if you don't think the Islamists are a worse enemy than the boogeyman politicians, then you are beyond hope in my book - and one of Them. To:
Also Terril, seeing as I'M the webmaster who deleted JCrain's spam, I'll have you know that he has been spamming this site and others for days now. How many times does a troll get to copy and paste the same stupid comment before you would consider it SPAM? Three times? Ten? Twenty? JCrain's idiocy can be found in multiple other places on this website. He's had his say - and then some. But he's been warned - additional copies of that tripe will be removed wherever I find it. And for as long as we're payin' the bills around here, that's the way it's gonna be. Got it?
Now buck up, Terril, and quit cryin' in your milk. To:
Oh, and by the way Christopher, Steve, Terril, and ilk: check out this conversation with one of your comrades:
To:
RI,
I respectfully request you highlight that exchange somewhere on the main page, with perhaps a warning for language. Maybe, just maybe, it will make some of the "the protesters are supporting the troops, too!" crowd think twice. To:
RE: Terril Nell I wondered how long it would take for the Bush haters to show their colors. Go to the Code Pink site where there are like minded "Robots" who share your hate America idiology. Don't take up our important time with your inconsequential blather! Your childish, uninformed, pathetic arguments don't belong on the same page with our Nations Hero's and our plans to honor them!
To:
So, this is what a right wing conspiracy theory sounds like? Interesting. Go ahead, get your iron knuckles and baseball bats and prepare to "protect" something that no one ever planned on defacing in the first place.
I feel sorry for you because you believe this nonsense. Go on now, make up more nonsense to get your blood boiling! We all know violence solves everything!!! By the way, do you have any idea how crazy your "everyone hates America", "Enemy Within" "Commies" BS sounds after a while? Holy Sh*t people, all you need is a "THE END IS NEAR" sandwich board and you will be all set. WOW... You blew my mind, though not in the way you probably intended. To:
We'll see you across the barriers, Julie. We'll be the ones who LOVE our country.
To:
Coop- Oh, please! I won't be on either side of your bitter little barrier, so can the BS.
We all support the troops, but your "patriotism" is just a thin shield you use to attack the left with, and it's pretty obvious, and over board. It wouldn't surprise me if you people defaced the memorial yourselves just to prove a point, that's how radical you sound. I think both sides of this ridiculous argument are horribly flawed and misguided, but you people are just paranoid conspiracy theorist, checking the closet every night for commies. To:
You seem awfully concerned, Julie. Why is that? And I find your use of the word "bitter" just a wee bit ironic. :-D Why would a gathering of veterans - who have EARNED their right to free speech - bother a troop-supporting, patriotic American such as yourself? Hmmmmm?
To:
I was wondering the same thing, Coop.
To:
Julie,
Just move on. It is impossible to get past these people's delusions and ignorance. I suppose they would also consider Jim Webb, Senator from VA, with whom I served in Vietnam, a "commie traitor" as well. No matter what ou say, they will turn it around while ignoring the facts. What's up, people, nothing to say about the shameful conditions in Walter Reed Hospital? Like all right wingers, you ignore anything that tarnishes your simple-minded view of reality. To:
I've seen this filth in action, John and Tipper, while you were sitting behind your little keyboards or watching PBS. I'll be standing tall for our troops, while you keep your pompous heads in the clouds (or is the sand?).
To:
Mr Gillick:
There's at least one flaw in your reasoning that needs to be addressed. If this effort is such a yawn and doomed to failure you should be encouraging rather than dismissive. Think of it, Sunday morning dawns and all the Eagles will be shown to be fools. The bigger the crowd the more foolish they'll look. Indeed, common sense would suggest that those who would march on the Pentagon should just stay home - making the Eagles look even MORE foolish. On second thought; a few hundred well dressed and well behaved folks walking past the Eagles might be an even better idea. CNN could show the Vietnam veterans with their flags and signs and maybe bits and pieces of uniforms for just what they are. A bunch of old farts trying to stir up trouble where there is none. To:
if we have any doubts about the mindset of the war protestors, just remember Jack Nicholson's speech in the movie "A Few Good Men." "They can't handle the truth." They live in a world of gray where if there is evil, it is America. They believe in the words of that famous American hero of the left, Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along?" Well the answer to that question is a resounding "NO!" How do you get along with the homicidal maniac that attacks you're home and family? How do you make friends with a monster? that's what we face in this war against Muslim fanatics. The left in our country will wallow in their delusions until these fanatics nuke our cities or cut our throats. The enemy has made it clear what they want; the destruction of the West. The left not only wants to react like sheep but are holding the door open for the wolf to come in. Cowards always assume everyone else is one to. Well, our troops aren't and neither are we. This old grunt would rather die on his feet than live on his knees. In spite of the left and their acomplices in the media this Nation is still worth fighting for and if necessary dying for. God Bless our troops and our mission.

Jeebus, What on Earth ails you idiots. I fought in Vietnam (11th Marines), my father and uncles fought (and were wounded) in WWII and guess what? They're against this crap in the Middle East, just like I am. And, OK, when are we all going to get the truth about that idiotic urban legend that "hippies and peaceniks" spit on returning GIs? Never? OK, got it. Except there is no documented instance of spitting. Vietnam vets have researched it. None occurred. Sorry to wreck your stories and lies with truth. Why do you people cling to this crap? What is so important about continuing a lie? We didn't lose the war in Vietnam because of anything other than we should never have been there, there never was a cogent reason for being there. What is it you idiots can't get? We lost. We lost because nobody in Washington or the Pentagon knew what we were doing there. It was a made-up lie. And once the cat was out of the bag and our boys started coming home in bags for no particular reason, the people, of which this country is still (though barely) ruled, decided to bring the boys home. Remember: more than half of the 58,000 fell after that fool Milhouse took office. Good luck "defending the wall," I'm sure the "hippies, leftists, commies, LSD stoners, and others will find your "brass knuckles" approach as pathetic as one of the guys who made it back do. i wasn't spit on when i came home from Nam. probably because I was on a medivac plane, both tours. also probably why I'm not in jail for murder. i went to college when i got out and ran into a lot of those Che wannabes. they couldn't find Nam on a globe if their life depended on it. they're main function in life was being popular, getting laid, smoking dope, and keeping their fuzzy pink asses safe at home. nothing has changed except now there's no draft. speaking of antiquanted equipment; those in the Corps will remember WW11 C-rats, Korean War web gear, and M-16s that jammed. so what, we still kicked ass and took names while Joddy stayed home and played with himself. what i did run into at home was blatant descrimination in the work place. to tell a prospective employer that you were a Nam vet was a guaranteed trip to the back gate. The libs and the press did a good job of poisoning the general populace against us and they're doing the same today for our sons and daughters who are serving. we can't let that happen. the only real heroes are those that don't come home. if we, as citizens and veterans can't defend their honor and the honor of our troops then what the hell good are we? we would be an disgrace to our ancestors and an embarrasment to our children.

I was also medivacked from Nam .. "Under the wing" of the USAF so to speak. Big plane. Lotsa cots sstrapped to the walls.
But I was spit on Jeebus. Made the mistake of wearing my dress greens on a homeward bound convelescent leave from Ft Deavons to Syracuse, NY. Pretty thing too. Broke my heart. She asked me if I had been wounded in Vietnam and I answered yes ( I was on crutches.) Snd she called me a baby killer in a loud voice, honked one up and spit on me. The woman next to me gave me a napkin to clean it off ...I wanted to chase that student down, but I didn't. I just sat their hurting. And I ain't gonna sit there any more. You trolls keep saying there is no threat. We have threats, from left wing extremist that WILL be among your side, recorded on tape. Threats to not only deface the Wall, but to actively try to injure vets and other patriots. And we are the "nutjobs"? Nice try, but misplacing the actual harm being done does,t work here. The only one to benifit from your SWWP's protest will be Al Qaieda; and "The Stalinist Worker's Party itself". Our troops will win the war on terror. this "crap" in the middle east that you and your kin are against; would that be the same "crap" where we are fighting an enemy, al queda, that has threatened to destroy America? You remember, the same group of cretins that brought us 9/11 and have made numerous other attempts to destroy our nation. i know that you were a cannon cocker in Nam, but didn't you feel that making a stand against Communist domination of South East Asia and consequentlly the rest of the world was worth the effort? I believe that this war, like Nam, isn't being handled a 100 to my liking. in war you need to utterly destroy the enemy when and where they are found. when that's done then you can start nation building. will it still be "crap" when we retreat and the enemy takes the inititive and brings the war home to us, like 9/11, or worse? will it still just be a big waste of time then? If you feel that defending our honored dead against these leftist morons is a waste of time then you must have been in the same Marine Corps as John Murtha. That Corps is not the one i proudly served in. To:

Rich; it pains me to say it but there are always those 2 ers. examples are Bobby Garwood turncoating to the NVA while in a POW camp and John Murtha selling our troops out today. remember how John Glenn sold his soul to Bill Clinton during the impeachment hearings, for one more space ride? his personal 30 pieces of gold. these people either never had any cajones or they lost them along the way. i doubt there will be a seat at the big table in Vallhalla for their kind. This war, like 'Nam, evokes a lot of emotion. It comes from a variety of sources; with one of the strongest being the uncertainty of how it will all turn out. Like other postings here, I don't like how we entered this war. But, all of that aside, we are in it and there is only one thing for me to do and that's to support the men and women who put their lives on the line serving our country.
I simply cannot understand how protesting against this war in a public display in any way, shape, or form, supports our troops. It only supports the ideals of those fighting against us that they can beat us if they just hold on a little longer. That means more deaths of American service men and women. I have a hard time believing that that's what the anti-war protesters want, but I fail to see how they cannot understand how their actions undermine the very people they claim to support. Your protest emboldens the enemy. It won't stop the war. Protest for better treatment facilities and post-war options for service men and women. Protest for better pay and equipment. Protest for us to take the actions recommended by military leaders. But for God's sake, don't run around saying pull the troops out and quit. That will not solve this problem. Within an hour of celebrating your "victory", we'll still be seeing Americans killed by a radical group of religious zealots. Unless we show them that we cannot and will not allow them to attack us, they will continue. Don't be fooled into believing that this war has anything to do with the reasons we first thought. We are not fighting Sadaam loyalists. This war no longer has anything to do with Sadaam. We are fighting an overzealous group of religious terrorists who want to destroy America. They don't just want to kill a few Americans...They want to DESTROY America. They see Her as the bed of Satan and will stop at nothing to see Her defeated. The sight of an anti-war protest only heightens their belief in their cause. The anti-war protest organizers decided to begin their march near the Wall. At least one person has indicated a desire to deface the Wall. If there is someone who believes defacing a memorial dedicated to the memory of those who served this country and made the ultimate sacrifice is a good idea, then I have to at the Wall on the 17th. I have to be there to do whatever I can to protect the sanctity of that memorial. I hope to provide that protection with honor and respect for those remembered on the Wall. I even hope to do it with respect to those who feel the need to protest against the war. But, I will not allow anyone to harm that Wall. Just for the record, I didn't serve in Vietnam, Afghanistan or Iraq. I was lucky enough to have served during peace time. So, I don't even pretend to know what it was, and is, like to serve in combat. But I do know that if there is one thing those that served, and are serving, in combat deserve it is my utmost respect and thanks. If standing near that Wall means I can show them that respect then I'll be standing near that Wall. To:
Sky Soldier, you are so learned and eloquent. Perhaps you should hook up with Ann Coulter. Your ilk is what makes the right wing sooo easy and fun to mock. I'll say it again, since some of you are not the brightest bulbs on the strand: this will be a wicked failure because you will be mocked in the press and people will look upon you as wingnuts. Your effectiveness will be diminished, and no the anti-war movement will continue to grow. I'll be back to torment you when you look like fools--and remember, this is your doing. You and your ilk had an opportunity to do something constructive, and you chose this silly, juvenile response. This country is not going to give a fat rat's ass about your gathering. The support for this war is gone and it ain't coming back--certainly not the way you are going about it. So Sorry! It's over, wingnuts!
To:
So if what you say is ture, why do you bother to waste your time here?
Why don't you just run along and play. To:
amen Chuck, well said.

We don't want you staying at home that day in fear, we want you to show up in all your bluster and arrogance. And just see us. I can't wait to see all of your bluster and arrogance in person that day. Lisette said: "I’ll be back to torment you when you look like fools" You've already got a good head start, Lisette. But I have a better idea. When you show up on March 17th, and are facing tens of thousands of veterans, PLEASE come over and mouth off like this right to our faces. Do you have the balls for that? Or are you only brave when you're behind a keyboard? To:
First of all my deepest and most sincere gratitude goes out to Veterans of all wars. No one "wants" a war. However if we want to be free from tyrants we have to step up and fight back.
The protesters have no right to deface our memorials, they have their freedom to protest as do the rest of us have ours to show we do NOT agree with them. I was 12 when the US pulled out of Vietnam and even then I did NOT agree with the protesters rallying against our returning Military. My son is among the returning this time and you better believe I will not sit quietly in my home as hanoi jane tries to spit on him. For or against the war Christopher, no one has any right to disrespect the Military members, or the memorials. And this includes using the image of the fallen without the consent of their families, and yes they are doing this. That is what I believe this movement is about. It gives those among us who dont want the cindys kerrys and the janes speaking for us. God Bless all you Veterans. Thank YOU and Welcome HOME. To:

Within an hour of celebrating your "victory", we’ll still be seeing Americans killed by a radical group of religious zealots. Unless we show them that we cannot and will not allow them to attack us, they will continue. End quote I cannot say it any better than you did, Chuck. That is why I quoted you. You make points that we should all carry to DC with us. In particular, our support of the troops in a war that must be won. And we must make those points known to the Media, as well as to those who will be watching us from all over the World. But I will add emphasis to some of your words. We must make certain this current administration FIXES Walter Reed VA Hospital, and make certain this Administration and this Congress provides all the care and treatment our returning Vets EARNED in this War on Terror. Yes, it is TRUE our Vietnam Wall monument was threatened by at least one coward who used an alias as he alluded to throwing Molatove cocktails to burn those gathering at the Wall; and to deface the wall with hurled bottles of paint, balloons full of paint; as well as threatening us with hurled bottles of gasoline with wicks aflame. And the thought of traitors using our monuments to our war dead is sickening. It will not happen. The left has already began a relentless attack on our credibility; and our reasons for creating this necessary Gathering of Eagles. We must make this more of just a reunion, more than an unbendable line to protect the Honor, the Hallowed Ground of our Memorials ... Which it will be. But it must be more. We must take Chuck's words at more than face value and make them our own. "Protest for better treatment facilities and post-war options for service men and women." Yes! We must make sure all those returning vets do not only get the RESPECT they deserve, but get the treatment they need in a holistic and timely manner. Walter Reed with black mold, decreped living conditions and misplaced wounded warriors should not have happened. Not today, not ever. We fought the VA decades ago ... For the same reasons recently uncovered at Walter Reed. And I had thought we had won those battles years ago. Because the VA has improved overall; yet every administration before, and since, has cut back the VA budget as they attempt to balance their own budgets on the backs of our new Vets, and ourselves. Now we have patients who desperately need care they are not receiving. Vets forced to cross heavily used streets to get to appointments. If they are lucky enough to be receiving treatment and they have not been lost in the red tape. We have to take the initiative on this and every other aspect of making sure our returning troops receive top shelf medical care and compensation for their wounds. The Moonbats have already seized on this issue that our Government should have already resolved. So let us incorporate Walter Reed and the Veteran's Administration shortcomings into our message at the Wall on the 17th. And let us continue those messages in an on going dialogue with all three branches of our Federal Government and on the State level until these disgraceful situations are resolved. "Protest for better pay and equipment." There are many families of Marines, Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen fighting overseas, whom are financially strapped, whose families have to depend on food stamps and family handouts to get by. This is unacceptable. We SHOULD make this known by the main speakers at our "Gathering of Eagles" and by signs held aloft at the same time in our given area away from the Wall itself. It is imperative you go back and read Chuck's letter above again........ He makes many more profound points that WE should; no, that we MUST make in Washington. we are there only in part to protect our monuments. We can easily do that. We must also show we not only support our troops in harms way; but that we support our troops ALL THE WAY! We must make these things reality, not slogans. Just as America has evolved to be the greatest Democracy on the face of the Earth, we must strive to keep her so. So let's incorporate the true needs of our wounded troops, of our Warriors still engaged with the enemy; and let us raise our voices in concern for their families need here at home. Let's show the World that we care as much about today's Veterans, today's Warriors, as we do for those we Honor with our Monuments. WE are AMERICA. We can fix what is broken; and not leave it to the World Worker's Party to use as their Trojan horse against us just as they use the moonbats to their own advantage. We are losing people, it is way past time to regain our country and our honor. This Gathering of Eagles is about more than the Wall. It's about more than us. It's about supporting the troops all the way from battle to healing, to coming home. It's about a whole population being defrauded by The World Worker's Party. It's about Hugo Chavez becoming a folk hero to half the population or more of this nation. We are losing this country to illegal immigrants, and to the World Workers Party ... just at the time Extremist Islam wants our heads. We must address all these issues Chuck so eloquently brought up; and we must do it in such a way as our efforts glean tangible results. EAGLES UP! Sky Soldier;
there are solutions to most of our problems; it's just that those in power don't have the balls to carry them out. want to end the illegal immigrant problem; seal the borders and severly punish employers, landlords, stores, ect. who enable them to live here. also do away with the "anchor baby" situation. punish those states who give illegals drivers licenses and practice the motor voter procedures. screw political correctness and the ACLU. You want to help win the battle in Iraq ? close and mine the borders with Iran and Syria and have constant over-flights of Specter gunships. if it moves, it dies. isolate the enemies supply chain. declare martial law and make those "hot areas" free fire zones. anyone not a soldier or policeman that is carrying a weapon can be shot on sight. captured terrorists should be tried by military court and if convicted executed immediately. above all send all those damn JAG officers and news crews home and change the rules of engagement. if the terrorists are hiding in a mosque or a building, that becomes a parking lot.to hell with colateral damage. that's how wars are won. if we should have learned anything from Nam it's that you can't win a war with your hands tied behind your back. we can have all the toys but if we, as a nation, don't have the will to win, we won't. that will is what the leftists here at home hope to subvert. As a native of Washington, D.C., I've seen it all. Yes the hate and vitreol exhibited by those who claim to be marching for peace has resulted in descreation of our memorials. I can personally attest to that.
On one occasion, I watched a group of young men scale the Navy Memorial and tear down the flags, burning them at the base of the Memorial to the cheers and chanting of the appreciative crowd. Such peaceful folk these followers of International A.N.S.W.E.R. are! I watched in horror as a small group of painfully young Marines were verbally and physically attacked in front of the White House by thousands of these so called peaceful protestors. On that particular day I didn't stand by silently but jumped into the fray pushing the spitting, punching, kicking "peace" protestors back from this small band of brothers. I wasn't the only spectator who stopped the crowd from harming these kids. On these two occasions, on separate dates, we were fighting in a different decade. These incidents happened during the first Gulf incursion. Funny how the cast of characters never changes isn't it. My family and I will be joining you on the 17th to stand against the disrespect those with A.N.S.W.E.R. show for our Republic. To:
A comment to Chris Chris your comments on Mr Jarrell article are puzzling. Have you ever visited the VA hospitals where you stated your father worked, from the article I bet not! Have you ever talked to a vet that has sacrificed for your privilages? You say your father served but was against the war and is against this war. You see now, the difference. He maybe was against the war but he still made that sacrifice, what have you made? No war is good, no war is fair, but what kind of person are you if you sit on the side lines and watch mass execution of men, women and children, by chemical means, aren't you just as guilty of mass murder also for allowing it to happen and not take a stand? I don't mean like the UN stand where that's all you do is stand and nothing else. have you ever seen a death caused by war? a child's death? I doubt it. I am willing to bet that because of what your father might have seen in Nam he was going to do his best to keep you from that. My point is this why do you think that your dad was against the war? I believe its because of what he saw in nam the price the innocent civilian populations pays. Your opinion is yours and I'll defend it even to my death if it be so, why because that one of the privilages you and I enjoy that the people of Iraq didn't and still today don't fully. Another reason your father might be anti-war is because of the treatment the nam vets received from people like you who have no real knowledge of what's realing going on over there. I was called a baby killer, spit at, and verbally assailled because I was a soldier, you know the sad part. I never was in Viet Nam, I was only coming home on leave from training thru the Atlanta Airport, nice uh! Have you had your door kicked in in the middle of the night and then dragged off to jail and beaten because of your views? No way right? It happened in Iraq, and those people were executed,or those who had their tongues cut out because the verbally disagreed with Sadamm and his party policies. don't believe me? there are video's that were filmed by Sadamm's own henchmen during these atrocious. Mr Berg and Mr Anderson, did you ever see their beheadings? doubt it. I saw the whole thing from start to finish. Maybe what I just told doesn't bother you, but I bet it would if it were your family, sons, daugther, etc. You also stated that your father wanted to volunteer to go to Iraq until your family talked him out of it, why? maybe he needed to have closure to his time in Nam. Those I've spoken to all wanted to have closure to nam, to put it to rest. Did you ever ask him the reason why he wanted to go, or was it just what you and your family wanted? As I stated before, you are entitled to your opinions, but all I ask is that you research your beliefs throughly before you judge. No, this country isn't perfect, but I've never heard anyone ever say it was. My last thought is this, my generation screwed those that returned from Vietnam and didn't support them and we turned our collective backs on them. For this I am sorry. I know that this doesn't mean much now but I am very proud of all that served in nam. I salute you and have raised my children to do the same. I fear that that same mentally is arising again in this country while those who hold the American soldier in high asteam stand by quietly. Its time to learn from the past and let those who willingly go in harms way know that their sacrifices will not be in vain nor forgotten by us all. Out Here!

Unfortunately I cannot make it to DC but I want to thank those who are going. Don't hesitate to kick some ass of those appeasniks. They are as much our enemy as the Islamo Fascists. If anyone of those anti-American scumbags so much as looks funny at The Wall, break their neck!!!
To:
to Lisette So we should just stand by like the world did in the late 30's in Europe when Hitler started his world domination tour? Like the UN did in Iraq while hundred of thousands of innocent men women and children were executed by Sadamm. Are you one of those who want President Bush held accountible for war crimes. Isn't just standing there the same thing? Wouldn't you be just as guilty for doing nothing and letting it happen!!!!? Oh but that different right? it always is when its you!!It funny that our own country looks down on our soldiers and doesn't want our soldiers to be held up as heros. When I was in Iraq some of the Iraq civilians called my soldiers heros and thanked them for freeing them from Sadamm. Where were you protesters when the mass execution of Kurds was going on? During the invasion of Kuwaiti? After the beheading of Mr Berg and Mr Anderson. No where, but let a pyamid of insurgents in their underwear get to the media and look out. No sweetheart the media will brand the gathering of eagles the way they want no matter what and our weak kneed senators and congressmen will fall in line. Just ask Sen Kennedy, you know the one who compared Iraq to Vietnam but was never there in Vietnam or if my memory serves me right ever put on a uniform in defense of this country.
To:
Are SPC Matt Maupin's Mon and Dad going to be there for him being he's the only CAPTURED Soider in IRAQ war it would be nice''''
To:
I wood like to be there you'll have mime blessings
To:
Jerry,
Matt Maupin will be there in spirit, on the MIA bracelet that has been on my arm for quite some time now. They are never forgotten. To:
You wanna real American? I'll be there. I will have a large sign that says 'Fuck You Baby Killer' Cause in the end thats all you are. Is a fucking bunch of lousy baby killers. What did Vietnam get you? The Country? the World? Nothing. Absoulety nothing. Cept your dumb fucking memorial. I will put my name on that fucker with a sharpie. And I am ready to die for it too you fuckers, but I will take at least one of you out with me.
The Dirty Hippy Versus the baby Killers. You assholes will be so outnumbered. I cant wait to spit on you and call you a baby killer just like when you came home from that last dumb war you went to. To:
Here we go again. What is it the compels liberals to be vulgar? Could it be a lack of intelligence and any inability to carry on a civil discussion?
To:
Me Civilized while you kill babies? Its irony on the root level but still funny. And BTW A whole bunch of us are now filling at least 4 of the hotels you guys will be staying thanks for the info!
See you in the hotel lobby with my big Baby Killer sign. What will you do about it? beat me up in a civilized manner? You guys will be eaten alive. This should be fun To:
Cept your dumb fucking memorial. I will put my name on that fucker with a sharpie. And I am ready to die for it too you fuckers, but I will take at least one of you out with me.Not that I have any ownership of this site, but I invite you to continue posting, Eaglespirit. A lot! Speaking of killing babies and irony, what's your position on abortion, Eaglespirit? Due to your tremendous concern for babies and hypocrisy, I am quite certain you're strongly pro life. Yes? :-) To:
I need no invitation to speak from anyone that fact should be obvious.
American Indian Culture forbids abortion even when the mother will surely die (at least this was the case historically). I have children. I dont beleive in abortion. I also dont bomb clinics like the right wing nuts. I found this site becuase you have sullied the spirt and image of the eagle in the name of a white mans war over treasure. Hence the icons you honor will be sullied by me. I will surely be the only 6'6" indian at the Peace Rally. Take it up with me then if you like. To:
The Peace Rally??? Oh, the one where you're going to spit on us, kick our behinds , eat us alive, scream profanity and insults, and take a Sharpie in a suicidal assault on a memorial? That "peace" rally?
So you are pro life? Amazing. Then I suggest you take up Baby Killing with all your compatriots at the "peace" rally. Be sure to let them know you're pro life. I'm sure you'll be, uh, embraced. :-D To:
eagle spirit? you're name is eagle puke. i hope i run into you there. bring your tomahawk because I'll have mine. i look forward to showing you what this old "baby killer" can do. tell us where you are staying so we can do a war dance on your head.
To:
Coop! LOL. Where have you been? I sure have missed you on FR. Can't wait to get to the Wall and shake the hands of a thousand Vets.
ED To:
I'm still kickin'. See you on the 17th!
To:
I hope so...
I don't know but I been told. Pinkos crap is getting old. To:
FYI, everybody. I removed a handful of EagleSpirit's comments above because it was just one "baby killer" after another, interspersed with the ever-erudite "fuck you, baby killers". I'm not about to censor anyone, but maniacal redundancy needn't be tolerated. His other comments stand as a testament to the mentality of many of the people we will be facing on the 17th. Not to say that all are as sick as EagleSpirit, but there will be contingents of psychos just like him. SO, be prepared. Best to become immune to it now.
To:
Eagle Puke:
i served with several excellent Native Americans in Viet Nam. a couple even came down from Canada for the adventure. They were excellent Marines and patriotic Americans. The didn't puff themselves up with phony names and strut around shooting off their mouths about what they were going to do with a sharpie. They sure as hell never considered desicrating the graves or memorials to their fallen brothers. One guy, I remember, got kicked out of the Marine Corps Band and ended up in our grunt unit. don't know who he pissed off but it must have been great. If your'e out there "Chief", our name for him, Semper Fie from Neely, LCo. 3/26 (67-68) anyhow, Eagle Puke, my guess is that your'e a runt wannnabe, never-was or will be. You never put your ass, only your mouth, on the line. You side with the traitors and the cowards. You are not of the Eagle, more akin to the rat. you are an embarrassment to your ancestors and a disgrace to your children. stay home with the women. 6'6" is just a tall pile of dog shit. To:
No sweat gary,
There are many great soldiers from the ranks of the American Indians... My guess is this guy is from the W.Churchill faux tribe. To:
EagleSpirit, 6'6". What tribe are you a member of? As early as the 1st century B.C. the roman legions, carried the Eagle standard.
To:
eagle spirit, I am only 5'6 and it would be my pleasure to "take it up with you" March 17. 1stSgt USMC
To:
The eagle is sacred to many cultures and peoples. I will be there the 17th outnumbered or not. Been there done that. Companies defeating regiments of NVA, battalions surrender to hummers and Apache gunships. No matter the numbers we will be there. Thanks so much for your eloquent posts tho, they are being appreciated on other sites now. So much for being peaceful and having no intention of damaging "The Wall". Don't you just love " Public Forums"!

Hey Eagle Spirit, You know what manifest destiny is? Your gonna find out.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Let it be said that those who chose to undermine our Government, to use the media to promulgate their anti-war sentiment, have never had the privilege to serve their country in her Armed Forces. They have never known self-sacrifice, never heard the sounds of combat, have never known the bond of a Band of Brothers. They definitely have never known the feeling of service to something greater than themselves. They've never worn shed their own blood or had that of their comrades on their hands as they lay wounded. They have never been to the funeral of a brother or a sister who devoted their life the VOCATION of service to their Country and to the profession of arms. In fact, they have probably never served anything other than their own insulated interests. One cannot be anti-war and pro-troops. Those who have not known anything outside the comfort and isolation within the borders of these great United States do not know that certain parts of the world are mean, ugly places. There are millions of people who live to see the destruction of the United States and western civilization. Those concepts are lost on the left because hardship to them is foamy latte or slow Internet or expensive gas. It will be evident when we start getting attacked in our schools, places of worship, gas stations and post offices, when we have IEDs on 395, on our metro buses, and suicide bombers in our kids' schools. I dare say, to all of you who have forgotten that the US was attacked in act of WAR that makes Pearl Harbor pale in comparison, who would condemn your fellow American for his or her service to our Great Nation, pick up a pack, and a rifle, and follow me. For those of you still whining about white colonialists, imperialism, yada yada. Get over it. You weren't there, it's history now. Join the team be an "American" sans hyphenated ethnic suffix. My family is immigrants, and they have served in every conflict from WWII until today. And we call ourselves Americans. Semper Fidelis Tony ps Coop, be looking for you brother.

Damn fine post, T!!
To:
Gary Neely, now that's just damn funny, I don't care who ya are!
"shooting off their mouths about what they were going to do with a sharpie" Oooooooooh, a sharpie - scary stuff, huh? "6 6 is just a tall pile of dog shit." Pure poetry. Thanks for making me laugh out loud on an otherwise hectic morning! To:
Just a troll, he is only 6'6" when he is standing on a box. Mama catches him doing on her computer he will probally get a spanking and be grounded.
To:
Red Head Infidel;
my pleasure. I do believe that in all future referances we call him by his new name " Eagle Puke" To:
Native Americans have fought in every conflict since King phillips war (sometimes on both sides of the conflict) Geronimo who was never defeated had "Brothers" who were members of the US Cavelry. He admired them because they were Warriors and had Honor. There is NO respect for "running dogs" in Native culture. The Eagle Feather is the symbol and the Badge of the Warrior. I ask all, is not the American soldier entitled to that distinction? And I ask just who are the "Running Dogs" here?
To:
Howard, I believe that we know the running dogs...They are the ones who willing and readily undermine their own country.
The funny thing is that E Puke, is probably a 5'3 white guy from Berkley who has twisted his hair with 3 gallons of beeswax into a pile of semi dyed blond nappy dreadlocks...My guess is that he is 21 with no kids, and furthermore no intelligence... To:
I, as all of you are going to the wall to support our troops and to defend the wall from would-be desecrators.
I feel sorry for this Christopher because he cannot understand any of this. My brother served in Vietnam, came home safely, but unfortunately died a few years ago. Then I just found out last night that a Vietnam Veterans that I met on the internet a few years ago, also passed away. My brother would be amazed and excited to see all of his supporters and of course, his fellow Vietnam Veterans at the wall. The other man, Willie Dougherty, who died a few months ago, always shared his stories with me, about how much it hurt him when he came back home to the underserved crap (my words, not his)he received by and because of, the anti-war protesters. I am heartbroken now because this man did not live to see this Welcome Home he deserved almost 40 years ago. So, I'm standing for all the troops, past and present, my brother, and for Willie Dougherty. Read the messages through, Christopher, and try to understand what we're talking about. To:
GUNS UP !!!!!
remember that call? well, it's time once again to saddle up and move forward. Hope some of my old brothers from the 3rd Bn. 26th Marines (67-68) will be there. we held the line at Khe Sanh and we'll hold the line at the Wall. our country needs us again. To:
Gary, I knew it wouldn't be long befor I started seeing responses from fellow Khe Sanh vets. Sent a reply to CavMom on March 1st, her son must be very proud of her as she is of him. Sent a reply to a G.Poppy also, under the "Fly high you Eagles, Soar" poem. This guy made some negative comments and I just had to say something. Told him if he starts his stuff in front of any of us KheSanh vets, we'll take him and his cronies on a little trip back in time to 67-68. Hard to believe that Hanoi Jane and the crowd like her just doesn't get it that these protests just give incentive to the enemy to hold out longer, just like what happened during Nam. I know that you and all our brothers, nomatter what branch of service, and all the families and patriots will stand tall on the 17th, but then again a patriot stands tall everyday. Take care and God bless. Semper Fi...2/26 hill 861A
To:
good hearing from you, 2/26. we'll deafeat these weasels if we just stick together like the band of brothers we once were. they just can't seem to get it through their thick little brains that we are at war with people who have the will, desire, and determination to exterminate our nation. i guess they think, because they're the enemies supporter that they will get a pass. hell they would be the first to get the chop for their decadent ways. they ask why we're in Iraq. maybe because "That's where the damn enemy is " why did we fight the Germans in North Africa and Italy. why did we fight the Japs in China and Burma ? Because that's where they were. our presence in Iraq acts like a magnet to draw these animals in so that we can kill them in one place and not have to chase them from one third world dung heap to the next. we're just not killing them fast enough, but that's another matter. never doubt that the majority of these "peace lovers" are the spawn of the 60's crowd that caused the loss of Viet Nam and most of southeast Asia to the Communist superpowers. On my second tour in Nam, 71, I was a helo door gunner. we used to go sit on the revetments when we were not flying and listen to Hanoi Hanna on our radios. Commie propaganda but she did play some great state side music. occasionally they would have some poor tortured, beaten- down POW read an anti-American statement. we knew they were under durress and sympatized with them. one night a broadcast came over with an American, sounding fat and healthy, with the usual anti-American bullshit. we wondered who this turncoat was and it turned out to be John Kerry testifying in Congress. The enemy was using his spiel to try and demorialize us. we saw him for the traitor he was and is. The same thing is happening today. the enemy within is doing all they can to aid and abbet our sworn enemies. we owe it to our country to stop them.
To:
wonder what happened to "Big Chief Eagle Puke ?" Mamma must have caught him playing with the computer, smacked his little butt and sent him to his wigwam.

Guns Up! Stand Up Hook UP! Put Your Knees In The Breeze! Off An ON, Out An In! Saddle Up! As I read all these old sayings my heart is over whelmed by memories and the PRIDE I once felt at being a member of the greatest fighting forces the world has ever known returns to my heart. And reguardless of the rhetoric of the cut and run crowd I also remember the COMPASSION of this nations fighting men and women for those caught in the cross fires of combat, and even for the enemy, once he lay there defeated and bleeding.
And last but by no means least I remember this one, which may come into play at "The Wall" We're surrounded and cut off Sarge, what do we do now. As the old sarge smiles he replies, "Yah I know the poor bastards don't know it but we have them right were we want em." No, "The Wall, WWII, And Korean War Memorals" WILL NOT be turned over to those who spit on the sacrifices these momuments represent. NOT as long as this 62 year old Para-Trooper is still breathing anyway. All I ask of you younger Marines and Troopers is bring a couple of the punks in range of my cane. I can handle it from there. Eaglespirit, I would love to see you in person. I am afraid to say that I have never seen a 2 headed ass before. My husband is Cherokee and a Navy Vet, my son is in the Navy now and has been to Iraq and Afghanistan, and now wants to go to Cuba. He loves this country and wants to help in this freedom fight as much as he can. He is very proud to serve his country, are you. I will be there this Saturday and will be protecting the Wall, and so will many of my fellow Rolling Thunder members, so please say your peace to them, which many of them are Vietnam Veterans. Introduce yourself and by all means, tell them to their faces they are baby killers. See ya Saturday Eagle.
