Eagles to Land in Washington

The weekly peace vigils on Stewart Parkway protesting the Iraq war have stirred opposition. Tonight, Gathering of Eagles plans to match wits with the gathered group, it was announced Thursday night at a meeting of the Down East Republican Club.

In response to those vigils, Gathering of Eagles Chairman Larry Bailey said Thursday that he plans to represent "the negative side, something he said he finds to be effective in politics.

"I have found that I am most effective when I go against something, Bailey said. "There is a place in politics for the negative side.

The group Bailey plans to oppose has gathered this summer along Stewart Parkway to protest both the human and monetary cost of the Iraq war for North Carolina. The group has acquired all necessary permits from the Washington Police department to hold its "peace vigils, complete with an "Impeach Bush petition and signs reading "No Blood 4 Oil.

Gathering of Eagles is a "strictly nonviolent but confrontational organization that supports "the troops, the troops, nothing but the troops, according to Bailey.

"The local groups (of war protesters) ... and I don’t even know who they are. ... If all they do is hold up signs, then that’s all we’re going to do, Bailey said. "If they start pushing and hooting and hollering then we’ll do the same. We’ll just hold up our signs and support the troops when we confront those peace-at-any-price folks.

Bailey said that he did not know how many supporters he could expect, but his group has enlisted people from as far as away Raleigh and Shallote to attend. He also displayed a number of the signs the group will hold, some which read "support our troops, some with the organization’s name.

Bailey, a former Navy SEAL and Vietnam War veteran, has experience in opposing anti-war sentiment. He was president of Vietnam Veterans for the Truth, a group that contested John Kerry’s Vietnam War combat record during Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign.

"It sort of happened by accident, Bailey said about his involvement with the group. "I called up some of my friends and said What’re we going to do? We can’t let this guy get the presidency.’ I always look for the best in people. When I fail to see it, I really hone in on the negative and it’s effective.

As chairman of Gathering of Eagles, Bailey said he was instrumental in fielding 30,000 veterans against an anti-war protest led by Cindy Sheehan on St. Patrick’s day in March. Sheehan gained national attention while camping outside President Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas, in summer 2005 demanding the president meet with her about her son’s death in Iraq.

"Forty years of frustration, and dare I say it, hatred spilled over confronting Sheehan’s stooges, he said. "She epitomizes that which (Gathering of Eagles) despises.

Bailey was preceded at the meeting by N.C. Court of Appeals Judge Doug McCullough, a Republican running for re-election in 2008.

To the credit of these ladies The Grandmothers against the war,..I will say they were a cut above the run of the mill paid protesters we face in large citys across America., That said I would like to address the only low spot of our rally. The chairnam of the Beaufort County Demoricatic Party Mr Surry Everett,.was present in his car during the huge wind, rain & lightning storm while raged over us for an hour, He watched , from the safety of his car the Grandmothers hold signs over their heads for protection from the rain, never once while he was present to "Support the Grandmothers" did he stand with them in the rain or offer shelter to the drenched Grandmother. Shame on you Surry Everett, you are no gentalman.

Prior to the rally My Surry stated he would support the anti=war group because he had served in the Army, unlike the counter protesters from the G.O.E.who had never served I ask just which Army he did serve?, any officer in the US Army would never smear a member of a Troop Support orginization without checking a few facts, I counted at least 10 Vietnam Vets on the rally line, many more served I am sure., one of which was a lady who had served as a US Marine, her husband fought & was wounded in Vietnam. How dare you Mr Everett?., You are no officer nor a gentalman Mt Everett further defined himself by rolling down his car window as he drove away to shout insults at the members of the Gathering of Eagles Mr Everett called me "The biggest fool he had ever seen",, I consider the sourse. Me Everett you showed your true colors as a political hack, pandering for votes from a warm car while your voters stand in the driveing rain,. Sir I may be dumb, but I am I left town with my honor, you left yours curbside.

Geoge Samek-- you're not dumb and don't let that fool get to you for one split second.

There's a reason people like him are always so happy-- they are really that blissfully ignorant. Hard to believe that anyone could be, but they are. They've proven it time and time again.

But oh, how they hear those Eagles shrieking from above!

Next time, look him in the eye and tell him y'all are going to show up at the polls next time he is up for re-election, and then stand back and all watch the blood drain from his face.

You'll put him in his place-- I promise!

Please note....During our memorial service in Washington NC we will deliver an invitition to the Grandmothers Against the War to join in the GOE rally not against them , but to honor our NC KIAs by a roll call of their names.

If they decline they define both themselfs ,and the anti-war movement. Not Good News For Grand Maw !!.

If they accept we can say we stood on high ground, wearing a white hat, & payed proper respects to all our brave NC War Hero's. Very Good News For The GOE.

Please find time to stand with us, this will be the first time for this Honor Rally

83 names will be called, from across all of NC., If you wish to call five names or be a part of the service contact me direct First come, first served. george.samek@gmail.com

Would any Eagle have the proper bell to be rung after each name is called?. You Bring It, You Can Ring It.

This Rally is moonbat free, you will walk away knowing you stood in a special place with brother & sister Eagles.,

Earl, You can't support the troops without supporting the mission. And this war is essential for the security of this country. Liberty has ruthless enemies. Defeat Jihad!

To: Gabi
Earl, Longhunter is absolutely correct. You simply cannot support the troops while undermining their mission. It's like saying "we demand better roads," while refusing to allocated any funding for them. Freedom always comes at a steep, heavy price-- it has, all throughout history. Are you actually going to argue that it isn't worth it?

Earl Try this on for size Sir.

Lets bring them home with Victory & Honor, These are not small children on a playground, if they did not want to be in Iraq they would be at the Mall with 95 of the draft age youths of America.,

If they are forced to leave Iraq without Victory can you point out the plan by Congredd to defund the continueing JIHAD.?. , The "War" ie, jihad, unlike Vietnam will follow us home, Please get back to us on this one issue.

Congress cannot controll Congress, what on earth makes you think they have a plan to make America safe if we declare Defeat?. You will find no joy here Earl, may I suggest you are talking to the Gathering of Eagles, not ANSWER. As we find many Trolls & sockpuppets wondering in to chat we are very suspect of comments like "Surrender Now-Bring Them Home, We Will Figure The Rest Out Later" If you are a troop support welcome , if not make it easy on your ego and LEAVE.

If I made you angery Earl I will say you must be a trool, no true troop supporter would shed a tear over my comments VICTORY EARL THE TROOPS WANT VICTORY,..NOT BUS FARE HOME>

You must face facts Sir, no amout of feel good comments about "Bring Them Home" have anything but positive effects on the Islamis jihad terrorist.

EAT HIM UP & SPIT HIM OUT & LETS GET BACK TO PLANNING EAGLE WORK FOR SEPT 15 IN DC.

400 posts to a TROLL will do nothing but waste time.

EARL..Your comments define you Sir, not me, we play no candy ass games here, we support the TROOPS & THE MISSION..PERIOD.

George...

83 names appears to be the number of casualties from Iraq only. Please consider those who gave their life in Afghanistan as well. A fairly accurate list of both can be found at www.GetOutOfOffice.com

It lists 99 casualties from North Carolina.

MikeB. The GOE Home Page is a moonbat magnet, they stock up on the latest talking points, woddle in to inform the Great Unwashed that we are not wrong in our thinking about surrender of America to the Islamic terrorist, we are just stupid & need a little after school help to insure we sing the party line.

I myself liked the first Frank the Buzzard, he was vile, foul mouthed , and a "Leader in his community", all others have been found lacking. The third rule of troll control works like a charm, Rule # 3,...Flush !!.

I wish we would get at least one Troll who started out with post #1 by saying." Hi, I am a Troll, I hate you, I am much smarter then you, my comrads all give me high fives for my brilliant use of recycled BS, May I waste your time?." As good as a bite of the apple would be, it is all fruit of the poisoned tree. Stick with ,.. Identify & inforce ,..Troll Rule # 1 Never Feed a Starving Troll., You will kick him in his tiny family jewels on his first post, post around them, it drives them bug nuts. !!.

George ......We've flushed so much lately, the plumbing is gettin backed up. Plus we need to send ANSWER the water bill for the past 3 months. It's gone up 150 more than the first 3 months.

I guess it would be cheaper to kick 'em in the sack ..George, you just saved us a ton of money, plus the Trolls will be happier since we're conserving water. They're all tree huggers you know. Al Gore has 'em all scared to death that the World is gonna burn up in 5 years.

Poor Trolls, so confused and so lost. I almost feel sorry for 'em. NOT. They just wander around bumping their heads into trees and lightpoles. No wonder they have Brain damage.

Frank Ray, Very good point Sir, My figures were from A web site which used DOD figures, I will dubble check these figures, I know all Eagles wish to honor all troops who have died for our freedom. I also will do a check for any new names prior to any honor roll rally.

Thanks again Sir.
