Please consider sending this request for help to your email distribution about this May event for our wounded vets.  Knowing that we all are supporting and fundraising for many causes, this one ranks right at the top of the list!

The most immediate need is well stated by Frenchy:
"WE ARE IN DANGER OF LOSING THE MARINE CORPS C-9 JET that will be bringing in 75 of the most severely wounded, and their caregivers, from Brooks Army Medical Hospital in San Antonio to enjoy the weekend, and a few to compete in the Rally, if we cannot meet the funds requirement to feed and lodge these Vets from all Service branches.  We have to confirm the available funds by 30 APR 09 to be able to schedule the C-9."

After talking with Frenchy, the request for funds for the 75 wounded vets is 3 nights in the P-Cola BOQ at $40.00 per night.  For what ever reason the BOQ can not provide the rooms "gratis."  Therefore, donation goal is for (75 x $120.00 = $9,000.00).  Simply done, $50.00 - $100.00 donations can add up to $9,000.00 pretty quickly.  We have only a couple days to act before we loose the C-9.

Please forward this quickly because time is of the essence.  This is for a great cause, it's legit, and it's tax deductible.  Most important to note, we have wounded from all services participating in this wonderful event and not just one service orientation.

Just give Frenchy a "call for commitment" or "email for commitment" prior to 30 Apr 09 so he can have an idea of whether enough funds can be procured to secure the C-9.  Frenchy's contact info is in his email below.

This is a NATIONAL EVENT.

This year,  to coincide with Military Appreciation Month in Pensacola, wounded, Disabled Vets will be coming from all over the country to compete in a bicycle rally.  Some have been doing this for a few years.

We have already purchased a number of the custom built bicycles for these Vets who will be competing.  One will be given to a Marine that lost both arms below the elbows and also an eye.
Our cost.....3 to 10K per bicycle.

It is difficult for most to imagine what these events mean to these guys that are trying so desparately to get their lives back together.

Our BEST approach is to ask a person or an organization to sponsor a Vet, or a number of Vets, with $150.00 per Vet, which will cover their lodging costs for this magnificent weekend in Pensacloa.
We'll accept ANY amount in donation!  We don't get mad at a nickle cause it ain't a dime!

I have attached the E-mail from Lt Col Steve "Luker" Danyluk, USMC (R) advising the Planning Committee of our situation.

I personally believe that we have contact with the folks that can make this happen!  This ain't our first rodeo, and surely won't be our last !!!

Thanks for all that you do!
