Captain Larry, I am hooked up, standing in the door and ready to participate in the rally on Sep 15.
GOE I and GOE II were major events for this old beat up soldier and it was a pleasure to meet my fellow vets at the events and over adult beverages in our hotels. On friday evening March 16 there were roughly twenty VN vets consuming adult beverages in the lounge when three very fit cleancut young men came in. They turned out to be active duty Marine young warriors stationed in VA that had come up to DC to chase skirts :-) for the weekend. Needless to say when the VN vets found out that they were Marines and had already served a tour in the Sandbox, the Eagles took them under our wings.Drinks on the Eagles. They had no knowledge of the Eagles and expressed appreciation that we supported them so much. I met the three of them at the rally on Sat and they were astonished at the numbers of vets supporting them. It was an honor to have met them. Hard to say (not really) from an old Army guy that had gotten his nose broken in a bar fight with Marines (they did not belive that two thirty something guys in civilian clothing with long hair and big mustashes were in the Military) in Saigon in 70, beer and women contributed to that scuffle. LOL. By the way, It was great to have met you at the hotel in Georgetown at the Memorial Day rally. Sir, you have my support, another contribution follows, and I will be present for duty on Sep 15. Several days ago, I mailed a check to an address given on this site and no longer have note of it except a city something like Chocowinty, or something like that. The check is not yet cleared, I have two others I mentioned in an email days ago, and no reply to that, either. I need an address to send these things to while they might still be useful.
