Honoring Our Soldiers From Ft. Dix Mt. Holly, New Jersey When: Thursday, August 6th Time: 7pm Where: America EMS Building 219 Mill Street (across from 7-11 store) Mt. Holly, New Jersey 08060 Contact: John Hennessey (saluteburlcotroops.com) Please come out for this huge event taking place this Thursday, August 6th at 7pm at the above address. There are 30-40 soldiers in the WTU at Ft. Dix who will be honored. WTU stands for Warriors Transition Unit. This means that these soldiers have been injured in current war and are being housed at this unit at Ft. Dix. It can be very lonely and difficult to be recovering from injury and be away from loved ones. It could not be more fitting to honor these soldiers in the big way that we do things for the troops in our area. Saluteburlcotroops.com is hosting this event. They have summoned all local troop support groups to assist and we are all on board. The Warriors Watch Riders and other riding groups will pick up the heroes and escort them “Rock Star” style to the EMS building in Mt. Holly where patriotic well wishers will be waiting. There will also be fire trucks in the precession. This precession will be long and very loud with screaming sirens and thundering motorcycles to let the world know that the noise is for our troops. At the EMS building the waiting crowd will include the Yellow Ribbon Club, A Hero’s Welcome, various EMS, Fire and Rescue Company’s, and local residents. At 7pm there will be a ceremony honoring these brave soldiers who have put themselves on the line for us and were injured while doing so. At the very least we can come out to thank them and give them a Welcome Home fit for a hero. The ceremony will include a few speakers and presentations to our hero’s. There will be refreshments and drinks available also. Please come join us for this awesome event and use this opportunity to personally thank some true hero’s for protecting our freedom. -- Chris Hill Executive Director Gathering of Eagles |
