I have been thinking about this for a while and want to share some thoughts with all. First-Most of us are military trained,that means to me that WE ARE THE MASTERS OF CHAOS. If we show disapline and demeanor THEY will look like the clowns. Second- Should we think of forming ranks for those activly protecting the wall? Organize color guards from those who bring flags to signify rally points? Should people who march in bands bring their instruments to drown out the stupid taunts? In my mind the more "Different" to their behavior we are the better! Comments?

We, the brotherhood of Nam vets, has faced people wearing black before. We adapted, improvised, and over came them before, and we WILL do so on the 17th. The differance this time is these are nothing more than street punks, regardless of how well they may be organized, NOT AK carrying jungle fighters. I'm sure they think they can get the upper hand on us combat hardend veterans. What they fail to understand is WE have walked through the valley of death and come out on the other side. We are NOT frightened by a buch of masked street punks.

In the event of a physical confrontation at a Memorial, we vets must remember to STAY WHERE WE ARE STATIONED, as leaving your area could give a protestor/protestors an opportunity to vandalize/deface the Memorial, which is their primary goal. Stand ready, stand tall, defend.

As much as I want to carry Old Glory, I fear I must keep both my hands free and ready to grab my camera if needed. I have my 3rd Infantry Division patch sewn onto my hat and my EIB pinned there as well. My plan is to stand whever I'm assigned and just cross my arms.

Everyone needs to grab a brown paper bag and breathe into it. Having been to all the anti-war demonstrations here, my informed opinion is that the veterans counter-protesting at the Wall will not be met by a wall of spit. There will be a few, for sure. That's why I will in the middle of the protesting crowd with a videocam to capture it.
What vandalism and violence which will occur will happen at the hands of the "black bloc" anarchists. Probably two or three hundred of them will show up in black wearing masks. They're the ones who painted the Capitol steps last demonstration and smashed the window of a recruiting station. They hide in the march and then strike out vulnerable targets or leave the march entirely to hit targets off the route. It's impossible to predict where they'll go because even they don't know, making their minds up as they go.
