Eagles!

This is from our sister organization, Eagles Up.  Let's help this unlucky family get back on their feet.  What a trial they've had and are having, especially with the Westboro Baptist Church harassment calls.  That family of devils should have THEIR "home" burnt down around them!

Merry Christmas to you all!

Larry Bailey

Ladies and Gentlemen:

Further information regarding the Uzenski family from our friends at Operation First Response.  We would like to thank all of you who have already reached out to help them and will continue to keep you posted in the future.

Please keep them in your prayers this Christmas season and always.

Greetings,

On December 14 the family of Marine Cpl. Nicholas K. Uzenski from Bozeman, Montana lost their home to a fire. Cpl. Uzenski was killed in Afghanistan on Jan. 11, 2010. His dad and step-mother and their 5 kids lost pretty much everything in the fire. Here is the link to a news article.

I have been in touch with Olivia, an MSS member and Marine Mom from Helena, and Joe, an MSS member and veteran from Bozeman. Olivia and her husband went to see the family today. Joe later talked to Bill, the dad. The family is living in a hotel in Bozeman, who comped their rooms for a month. They do not have any way to cook meals, so they eat in restaurants. The family is needing gift cards for local restaurants, as well as cards to buy clothes and personal care items. Here are locations that have gift cards available for those of you in areas outside Bozeman: Appleby's, Old Chicago, Pizza Hut, Outback Steak House, Johnny Carino's, Target, and Walmart.

The Marine Corps League in Billings, (I think Olivia said Billings) is getting Christmas gifts for the kids. I have sizes if you want to send clothes to the family.

American Federal Bank in Bozeman has set up a fund for the family in the names of Bill and Rebecca Uzenski. I do not have any further info on that.

Joe has offered to coordinate donations being sent. You can send send gift cards, clothing, and cards of support to Joe and he will take it to the family. I have known Joe through the Patriot Guard Riders for several years. There isn't anyone more honest, or with a bigger heart, than Joe. (Please contact Kathy Upton for Joe's contact information @ eaglesvt@gmail.com)

I unfortunately have some horrible news. If things weren't bad enough for the family, Bill got a phone call from the westboro baptist church. They are the idiots who protest military funerals. The caller told Bill that it was the best day of their life when his son was killed, and it's an even better day that they lost everything in the fire. They were all cheering in the phone. What *%!)&~# ! How can they call themselves a church? I won't say what I think should be done with all of them, but I'm sure you agree.

I know this is a hard time of year to ask folks for donations, but this family needs our help to even think about having a nice Christmas, and rebuilding their lives. Every little bit helps. Even a card of support or handmade messages from kids will brighten their spirits.

Thank you!

Happy Holidays,

Liann
